Position Summary

The Talent Acquisition Specialist leads and coordinates the full-cycle recruitment and selection process for the Enterprise. This position is responsible for attracting, sourcing, screening, and coordinating candidates; ensuring compliance with Tribal Preference provisions, gaming regulatory requirements, and organizational hiring policies; supporting hiring managers throughout the recruitment process; and developing workforce attraction initiatives that strengthen the organization's employer brand and talent pipeline.

The Talent Acquisition Specialist serves as a trusted recruitment partner and ambassador for the organization. This position requires an outgoing, approachable, and engaging professional who is comfortable building relationships, networking within Tribal and non-Tribal communities, promoting employment opportunities, and creating a positive experience for candidates throughout the recruitment process

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Recruitment & Talent Acquisition

  • Manage the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) and related recruitment databases.
  • Post, maintain, and monitor job vacancies on internal and external recruitment platforms.
  • Source qualified candidates through various recruitment channels, including networking, job boards, social media, professional associations, and workforce development partners.
  • Screen applications and resumes to identify qualified candidates.
  • Coordinate and schedule interviews between candidates and hiring managers.
  • Participate in candidate interviews and assist managers with selection decisions.
  • Conduct reference checks, pre-employment testing, and employment verification activities as required.
  • Coordinate background checks, credential verification, drug testing, Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) reviews, and other pre-employment requirements.
  • Prepare and extend conditional and final offers of employment.
  • Communicate hiring decisions and next steps to candidates.
  • Ensure all recruitment activities comply with applicable Tribal Preference laws, employment policies, and regulatory requirements.

Hiring Manager Support

  • Train and advise hiring managers on recruitment, interviewing, and selection practices.
  • Develop structured interview guides, selection criteria, and candidate evaluation tools.
  • Provide guidance regarding hiring policies, procedures, and employment regulations.
  • Assist departments in developing recruitment strategies for difficult-to-fill positions.
  • Serve as an internal consultant to departments regarding recruitment and employment-related matters.
  • Review hiring recommendations to ensure compliance with Tribal Preference and organizational policies.

Recruitment Events & Community Outreach

  • Plan, coordinate, and participate in job fairs, career events, and recruitment activities.
  • Build and maintain partnerships with Tribal organizations, educational institutions, workforce agencies, and community organizations.
  • Represent the organization at recruiting events and community functions.
  • Promote employment opportunities and organizational culture to prospective candidates.
  • Support employer branding initiatives and recruitment marketing efforts.

Workforce Development

  • Develop and coordinate internship, apprenticeship, and workforce development programs.
  • Support initiatives designed to build candidate pipelines and succession planning efforts.
  • Identify opportunities to improve recruitment processes and candidate experiences.
  • Assist with workforce analytics and recruitment metrics to support organizational planning.

Recruitment Administration

  • Process employment applications and maintain recruitment records.
  • Create and maintain employment files and related hiring documentation.
  • Prepare correspondence, reports, hiring packets, and recruitment-related communications.
  • Maintain accurate candidate and recruitment data within HR systems.
  • Coordinate travel and accommodations for executive-level candidates when required.
  • Assist with development and monitoring of recruitment advertising budgets.
  • Compile recruitment reports and metrics as requested.
  • Maintain employment postings on organizational websites and bulletin boards.
  • Ensure confidentiality of all applicant, employee, and organizational information.

General Responsibilities

  • Attend required meetings, training programs, and professional development activities.
  • Support Human Resources projects and initiatives as assigned.
  • Work at other organizational properties and locations as needed.
  • Perform other duties within the scope of the position as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Associate's Degree and three (3) years of recruiting, talent acquisition, or human resources experience; OR
  • High School Diploma or equivalent and five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in recruiting, talent acquisition, or human resources, including at least two (2) years in a recruitment-focused role.
  • Experience utilizing an Applicant Tracking System (ATS) and other recruitment technologies.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Communications, Organizational Development, or a related field preferred.

Working Conditions

  • Frequent use of computers and standard office equipment.
  • May require travel to recruiting events, job fairs, educational institutions, and organization facilities.
  • May require occasional evening, weekend, or holiday work for recruitment activities.
  • Must be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods during recruiting events and daily work activities.

Licenses and Certifications

  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and be insurable under the organization's insurance carrier guidelines.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a gaming license in accordance with the regulations established by the LTBB Gaming Regulatory Commission and any other applicable laws.
