Job Overview

The Talent Acquisition Specialist supports the business and talent acquisition strategy by providing top-notch, full-cycle recruitment and maintaining recruitment processes and standards. The role should be passionate about providing a positive candidate experience, supporting hiring managers throughout the hiring process and maintaining accuracy in recruiting operations. This role should have a good mix of interpersonal skill to connect with a wide-variety of hiring managers and candidates, as well as technical skills to follow standards to a tee. A successful Talent Acquisition Specialist works with peers to provide a great employee experience that will ultimately impact business goals of profitability, revenue generation and a positive company culture.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Talent Acquisition Strategy Support
  • - Ensure candidates have a positive first impression of our company through our hiring process.
  • Proactively support and contribute to the talent acquisition strategy through consistently and effectively executing assigned tasks and contributing insight into current processes.
  • Execute promotional campaigns for the employee referral program and other sourcing efforts.
  • Provide input on change management and process improvement efforts across Talent Acquisition responsibilities to ensure corporate consistency and support rollout to the business.
  • Provide project support to People Operations efforts as requested which includes serving as a project team member and/or providing input to a project led by another department specialty.
  • Full-Cycle Recruitment
  • - Maintain the company’s job description library in partnership with Organizational Development.
  • Guide hiring managers through job requisition process and prepare them for interviews and selection to ensure successful recruitment efforts.
  • Perform applicant screening for hiring managers and participate in interviews as requested by hiring managers.
  • Provide managers with meaningful insights and compensation data to inform their final hiring decisions.
  • Enforce the standard offer process to ensure effectiveness of new hire selection and equal hiring practices across the business.
  • Plan and attend job fairs and recruitment events.
  • Recruitment Processes
  • - Utilize standard talent acquisition metrics to measure success of recruitment efforts and department needs.
  • Manage any and all applicant tracking systems (ATS) and job boards for job postings and applicant management.
  • Provide regular updates on all open job requisitions to leadership.
  • Coordinate interview availability between hiring managers and candidates.
  • Ensure compliance with laws and regulations relevant to recruitment and hiring practices (ex. EEOC, ADA, etc.) and act as a subject matter for the department staff and hiring managers.

Skills and Qualifications

  • A bachelors degree in human resources, management, business or related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in talent acquisition, workforce planning, recruiting and/or human resources.
  • Experience in a transportation and/or distribution industries preferred.
  • Ability to understand and document needs of stakeholders in an unbiased and accurate way.
  • Proficiency with all Microsoft Office software, both desktop and online versions, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint, Outlook, Teams, etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to improve outcomes in talent acquisition or related human resources functions.
  • Knowledge of talent acquisition practices and strategies, strong research ability, and experience applying the same to meet specific business talent needs.
  • Excellent organizational, prioritization and time management skills while responding to multiple requests at one time.
  • Ability to keep a high-level of integrity, professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Ability to stay detail-oriented in mundane and tedious tasks.
  • Ability to stay consistent in following tasks and processes.
  • Ability to communicate to management and employees in a way that is understandable, clear, concise and meaningful.
  • Demonstrated commitment to customer service excellence and ability to offer responsive and solution-oriented assistance.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift/carry 5 lbs. frequently.
  • Must be able to lift/carry 25 lbs. occasionally.
  • Must be able to lift/carry 50 lbs. infrequently.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
