The Recruitment & HR Specialist is responsible for full-cycle recruitment of employees and volunteers at True Friends. This role works with hiring managers to understand staffing needs, generate qualified applicants, manage the hiring process, and ensure a positive experience for candidates from application through onboarding.

In this role, your work directly supports True Friends' ability to fulfil its mission. You'll build relationships with candidates, hiring managers, and other partners while helping manage the recruitment process from application through onboarding. You'll spend your time recruiting, connecting with candidates, supporting onboarding, and contributing to other HR projects, giving you the opportunity to make a meaningful impact while enjoying a varied and people-focused role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with hiring managers and Marketing to identify recruitment needs and generate qualified applicants
  • Manage full-cycle recruitment, including posting opportunities, sourcing candidates, reviewing applications, interviewing, extending offers, and providing onboarding support as needed
  • Coordinate and participate in recruitment events, including occasional evenings and weekends
  • Manage the recruitment process through applicant tracking system(s), ensuring an organized, efficient, and positive candidate experience
  • Conduct background and reference checks for potential candidates
  • Ensure new hires complete required employment paperwork and documentation
  • Build and maintain relationships with hiring mangers and other recruitment partners
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • What you'll Bring
  • 1+ years of high volume full-cycle recruitment experience
  • 1+ years of experience using applicant tracking systems (ATS)
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information and handle sensitive information appropriately
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage multiple priorities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, Bookings, and Forms
  • Ability to successfully complete and organizational background check

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Primarily works in an office environment using a desktop or laptop computer and standard office equipment
  • Regularly interacts with employees, candidates, hiring managers, volunteers, and other partners
  • Requires the ability to walk, stand, reach, use hands, listen, communicate verbally, and see to perform essential job functions
  • Must be able to travel to other True Friends locations and recruitment events as needed
  • Some evening and weekend work may be required for recruitment events and organizational needs

Schedule

  • Hybrid work option may be available
  • Monday - Friday, 8:am - 4:30pm
  • Occasional evening and weekend work may be required based on recruitment events and organizational needs

Compensation

Annual Salary: $49,000
