Physician & Advanced Practice Clinician (APC) Recruiter
Location: Santa Fe, New Mexico
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM
Work Type: Full Time, Onsite (Not Remote)
Position Summary
The Physician & APC Recruiter is responsible for leading full-cycle recruitment efforts for physicians and advanced practice clinicians across CHRISTUS St. Vincent. This role develops and executes sourcing strategies to attract highly qualified candidates, builds relationships with active and passive talent, and serves as a trusted advisor to operational and clinical leaders throughout the recruitment process.
The recruiter partners closely with physician leaders, administrators, human resources, marketing, compensation, credentialing, and operations teams to ensure an exceptional candidate experience and successful provider onboarding. This position requires strong communication, relationship-building, organizational, and negotiation skills, as well as the ability to manage multiple searches in a competitive healthcare recruitment environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full recruitment lifecycle for physician and APC positions, from requisition intake through onboarding.
- Develop and implement proactive sourcing strategies using professional networks, databases, job boards, residency and fellowship programs, conferences, and direct outreach.
- Build and maintain strong candidate pipelines for current and future workforce needs.
- Partner with executive leadership, medical staff leadership, service line leaders, human resources, marketing, compliance, credentialing, and operations to support recruitment initiatives and process improvements.
- Facilitate provider recruitment activities, including candidate identification, screening, interviewing, site visit coordination, reference checks, and offer presentation.
- Coordinate and manage candidate itineraries, site visits, and interview experiences to ensure a high-quality recruitment experience.
- Collaborate with compensation and legal teams to develop competitive recruitment packages, letters of intent, and employment agreements.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for candidates throughout the recruitment and onboarding process.
- Attend specialty-specific conferences, recruitment events, and networking opportunities to identify and engage physician and APC candidates.
- Maintain accurate recruitment activity, candidate records, and reporting within applicant tracking systems and recruitment databases.
- Monitor recruitment metrics and achieve established recruitment goals, productivity targets, and key performance indicators.
- Provide weekly recruitment updates and dashboard reporting to leadership and ministry stakeholders.
- Ensure provider position postings remain current and accurately reflect organizational needs.
- Utilize physician and healthcare recruitment platforms such as PracticeMatch, PracticeLink, CareerMD, and other sourcing tools to generate candidate leads.
- Support providers through credentialing, licensing, and onboarding processes as needed to facilitate a successful transition to practice.
- Manage travel arrangements, recruitment-related expenses, and timely submission of expense reports.
- Represent CHRISTUS St. Vincent as an employer of choice and ambassador within the healthcare community.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Experience
- Minimum of one (1) year of recruiting experience required.
- Healthcare recruitment experience preferred.
- Physician and/or Advanced Practice Clinician recruitment experience strongly preferred.
- Experience recruiting in a complex healthcare system or physician practice environment is highly desirable.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong knowledge of full-cycle recruitment, sourcing methodologies, and candidate relationship management.
- Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proven ability to develop relationships with providers, leadership teams, and external partners.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple searches and competing priorities simultaneously.
- Demonstrated negotiation and consultative partnership skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with applicant tracking systems and HRIS platforms; INFOR experience preferred.
- Ability to analyze recruitment data and generate reports to support workforce planning decisions.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment in sensitive situations.
- Willingness and ability to travel periodically for recruitment conferences, networking events, and candidate outreach activities.
