Ready to build your HR career?
If you're early in your HR career and looking for an opportunity to gain hands-on experience across recruitment, onboarding, and day-to-day HR operations, this could be a great next step.
Levitt-Safety is looking for a Junior HR & Recruitment Coordinator to join our Fort McMurray team. You'll work closely with our Talent Acquisition and national HR team while providing day-to-day support to employees, supervisors, and managers at our local branch.
This is a role where you'll learn by doing. You'll get exposure to different areas of HR, build your confidence working with employees and leaders, and develop the practical skills that will help you grow your HR career.
Levitt-Safety has been helping make Canada a safer place to live and work for over 90 years. Our Fort McMurray team supports industrial, mining, and service customers across the region.
What You'll Do
You'll help keep the people side of the branch organized and moving forward. Your day will include a mix of recruitment, onboarding, employee support, and HR administration.
- Support recruitment by reviewing resumes, communicating with candidates, scheduling interviews, and participating in first-round interviews with guidance from Talent Acquisition.
- Help coordinate offers and pre-employment requirements, ensuring candidates have what they need to move through the hiring process.
- Coordinate onboarding from offer acceptance through an employee's first days, working with HR, IT, and other internal teams.
- Provide day-to-day support to employees and managers on routine HR questions, escalating more complex matters to the HR Business Partner or appropriate member of the national HR team.
- Help maintain employee records and HR systems, ensuring information and documentation are accurate and up to date.
- Track onboarding, training, and compliance requirements and follow up when something is outstanding.
- Support HR projects and initiatives as you build your knowledge and experience.
- Pitch in where needed - we're a busy team, and priorities can change throughout the day.
What You'll Bring
We're looking for someone who is organized, curious, dependable, and genuinely interested in building a career in HR.
You may be a great fit if you have
- 1-3 years of experience in HR, recruitment, administration, coordination, or a related role.
- A post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is an asset.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Comfortable communication skills and an ability to build positive relationships with candidates, employees, and managers.
- Strong Microsoft 365 skills and an interest in learning new systems and technology.
- The ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- A proactive approach - you notice what needs to be done and are comfortable asking questions, learning, and getting things moving.
- The ability to work independently while knowing when to reach out for support.
- Comfort working onsite in a busy branch environment where priorities can change.
Most importantly, you don't need to know everything on day one. We're looking for someone with a strong foundation, a willingness to learn, and the motivation to grow.
What You'll Get
- $60,000-$72,000 annual base salary, commensurate with experience
- 3 weeks' vacation
- RRSP matching and profit sharing
- Comprehensive health and wellness benefits
- Monday–Friday schedule, based at our Fort McMurray branch
- Hands-on exposure to a broad range of HR and recruitment activities
- Support and mentorship from our national HR team
- An opportunity to build the skills and experience to grow your HR career
