The Role

Our Early Career Talent (ECT) program provides a significant pipeline for the skill sets needed for an all-electric future and the future leaders of General Motors.

We are looking for an Early Career Talent Acquisition Partner to support the recruitment of interns, co-ops, new college graduates, and other early-career talent for GM’s technical and business organizations. This role partners with hiring managers, HR, ECT program leaders, and other Talent Acquisition teams to deliver a high-quality candidate and hiring manager experience in a challenging, high-volume, fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate is collaborative, organized, candidate-focused, and comfortable balancing multiple priorities. They bring sound recruiting judgment, strong communication skills, and the ability to build relationships with candidates, universities, student organizations, and business stakeholders.

What You’ll Do

  • Partner with hiring managers and HR to understand workforce needs, clarify role requirements, define target candidate profiles, and align on recruiting strategy and timelines.
  • Manage assigned requisitions through the full recruiting lifecycle, including sourcing, applicant review, candidate assessment, interviews, selection, offers, and pre-employment activities.
  • Recruit early-career talent across a broad range of technical, non-technical, business, and functional roles aligned to GM’s evolving workforce needs.
  • Build and maintain candidate pipelines through university relationships, career fairs, student organizations, conferences, referrals, direct sourcing, and talent community engagement.
  • Support targeted campus and virtual engagement strategies that align with GM’s hiring needs and priority talent markets.
  • Partner with hiring managers and interview teams to support consistent, structured, and timely assessment processes.
  • Coordinate with recruiting coordinators, sourcers, ECT program managers, Talent Marketing, HR partners, and other cross-functional stakeholders to keep hiring activity moving and ownership clear.
  • Deliver a positive candidate experience through clear expectations, timely communication, interview preparation, thoughtful follow-up, and ongoing engagement through the offer and start process.
  • Support intern conversion, returning intern, graduating intern, co-op, and new college graduate hiring activities as assigned.
  • Maintain accurate and timely recruiting activity, candidate status, and requisition information in Workday and other Talent Acquisition systems.
  • Use recruiting data and market insights to identify bottlenecks, communicate risks, and recommend practical improvements to recruiting plans and processes.
  • Represent GM at university events, student programs, professional conferences, and other talent engagement activities as needed.
  • Demonstrate GM Behaviors by owning outcomes, moving with urgency, leading as one team, committing to customers, being inclusive, and speaking fearlessly.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, communications, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 3 or more years of professional experience in Talent Acquisition, recruiting, human resources, or a related field.
  • Experience managing multiple priorities, requisitions, or searches in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience partnering with hiring managers and cross-functional stakeholders to define requirements and move candidates through the recruiting process.
  • Experience with candidate sourcing, screening, interviewing, assessment, offer management, or related recruiting activities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, organization, follow-through, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, manage confidential information, and adapt to changing business and hiring needs.
  • Ability to travel periodically for university recruiting events, team meetings, or other business needs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience recruiting interns, co-ops, new college graduates, or other early-career talent.
  • Experience with Workday, applicant tracking systems, customer relationship management systems, LinkedIn, Handshake, or similar recruiting tools.
  • Experience developing university, student organization, faculty, or professional network relationships.
  • Experience supporting high-volume hiring, structured interview processes, recruiting events, or talent community engagement.
  • Familiarity with inclusive sourcing practices and strategies that broaden access to talent.
  • Experience using recruiting metrics, market intelligence, or funnel data to guide decisions and improve outcomes.

Compensation

The compensation information is a good faith estimate only. It is based on what a successful applicant might be paid in accordance with applicable state laws.

The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position, as well as geography of the selected candidate.

  • The salary range for this role is $80,700 - $109,400. The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
  • Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
