Job Description

The College Recruitment Coordinator provides outreach, recruitment, enrollment, and transition support for prospective and new students. The Coordinator manages assigned populations and assists with application, enrollment, registration, and first-semester course support. The position supports New Student Orientation and serves as lead recruiter for rural communities, including multi-day travel across the state. The Coordinator organizes and staffs outreach events and builds relationships with schools, families, and community partners. Emphasis is placed on adult and non-traditional student recruitment, including older adults and senior citizens returning for enrichment, career development, or degree completion. Regular evening and weekend work, extensive driving throughout Nevada, and overnight travel for several consecutive days are required. The position supports student enrollment, retention, and completion.

Major Responsibilities

Student Recruitment, Enrollment Support, and Assigned Student Cohorts

  • Manage assigned prospective student populations and recruitment cohorts. Conduct outreach through phone, text, email, individual appointments, presentations, school visits, workshops, and recruitment events.
  • Meet with prospective students and families in person and virtually to explain TMCC programs, admission requirements, enrollment steps, financial aid resources, registration processes, and student support services.
  • Provide hands-on application and registration assistance.
  • Meet with new first-time college students to help them understand academic requirements, select appropriate first-semester courses, and enroll in classes.
  • Maintain communication with students from initial inquiry through enrollment and transition to TMCC.

Rural Nevada Recruitment and Outreach

  • Serve as the lead recruiter for designated rural Nevada communities. Develop and maintain relationships with rural schools, counselors, students, families, and community partners.
  • Plan and conduct recruitment tours throughout Nevada that require significant driving and may include overnight travel for up to one week at a time.
  • Provide school visits, presentations, information sessions, individual student meetings, application assistance, and enrollment support designed to increase awareness of TMCC and enrollment from rural communities.
  • Support the planning, coordination, delivery, and ongoing improvement of New Student Orientation programming.
  • Assist new students with understanding college expectations, enrollment requirements, registration, academic and student support resources, and their transition to TMCC.

Community Outreach and Weekend Recruitment

  • Serve as a primary coordinator for weekend and community-based recruitment opportunities.
  • Stay informed about community events and identify opportunities where TMCC should participate through information booths, presentations, workshops, or other outreach activities.
  • Coordinate assigned event logistics and represent the college at community events.
  • Build and maintain relationships with organizations and community partners that can increase awareness of TMCC.
  • Regular evening and weekend availability is required for this responsibility.

Adult and Non-Traditional Student Recruitment

  • Provide specialized recruitment and enrollment support for adult and non-traditional student populations, with particular attention to older adults and senior citizens interested in attending college for personal enrichment, career development, skill building, or degree completion.
  • Provide individualized support that recognizes the different needs and experiences of students returning to education after an extended period away from college.
  • Develop outreach opportunities and partnerships with organizations that serve adult and older populations.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university
  2. One (1) year of experience providing direct services to students in an educational or nonprofit setting

  1. Associates degree a regionally accredited college
  2. Three (3) years of experience providing direct services to students in an educational or nonprofit setting
  3. Experience in student recruitment and outreach
  4. Experience working with either non-traditional student populations or students from rural communities
  5. Public speaking experience

Valid driver’s license required for extensive local and statewide rural travel.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Experience working in a community college or higher education setting
  2. Experience providing enrollment, registration, or advising support to prospective or new college students
  3. Experience recruiting adult, non-traditional, or older student populations
  4. Experience conducting outreach in rural communities
  5. Experience planning or staffing community recruitment events, including evening and weekend events
  6. Experience delivering presentations to students, families, schools, or community groups
  7. Experience supporting New Student Orientation or other new student transition programs
  8. Experience conducting recruitment or outreach that requires regional travel and independent representation of an organization
  9. Experience using student information systems, CRM systems, PeopleSoft, or Canvas
  10. Bilingual in Spanish and English

Salary and Benefits Information

Salary: $58,415 - $73,019, initial salary placement will be dependent on education level and years of experience

Degrees must be accredited by CHEA - and USDE-Recognized Accrediting Organizations.
