Class Description

The Administrator, Employment serves as a key recruitment partner for the College, building strong relationships with hiring managers, search committees, and College leadership to attract and retain exceptional talent. In this highly collaborative role, you will develop proactive recruitment strategies, build diverse and effective talent pipelines, and support hiring across an academic environment. This position offers an opportunity to strengthen the College’s recruitment practices, develop meaningful partnerships across the institution, and help connect talented professionals with opportunities to contribute to student success.. Candidates with experience recruiting in a higher education environment are strongly preferred.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, or a related field and five years of directly related experience in recruitment and talent acquisition required. Experience in higher education is preferred. Knowledge of federal and state laws related to employment and employee selection procedures required. Proficiency in and experience with Microsoft Office, Applicant Tracking Systems, and HRIS systems is required. Professional Human Resources Certification preferred.

The anticipated hiring range for external applicants is $71,029 to $89,977, dependent upon qualifications and experience. The position's full salary range is $71,029 to $117,400, reflecting the potential for salary advancement through continued service and performance.

Class Specific Essential Duties

  1. Provide leadership and/or support to assigned College division and/or function.
  2. Remain knowledgeable about the College, its structure, culture, policies, and practices.
  3. Serve as point of contact for internal and external organizations.
  4. Prepare and analyze reports, as requested.
  5. Serve as an advocate for the College and its students, as required.
  6. Serve as liaison between College departments, faculty and/or staff, as required.

Position Specific Essential Duties

  • Review all employment applications for assigned searches to determine if applicants meet minimum qualifications for education and experience.
  • Develop and coordinate the dissemination of job announcements and advertisements for CCBC assigned recruitments.
  • Research and recommend new sources for active and passive candidate recruiting.
  • Assist hiring managers, search chairs and search committee members with targeted recruitment strategies, resources, RFR approval process, interview protocols, etc.
  • Verify all search documentation submitted to HR by the search committees for accuracy and completeness.
  • Respond timely to internal and external applicant situations, inquiries and requests as required.
  • Arrange pre-employment testing, background & references screenings. Assist in the evaluation (and provide input) of current and prospective vendors.
  • Participate and provide input regarding applicant selection.
  • Conduct regular follow-up with managers to determine the effectiveness of recruiting efforts.
  • Process and review new hire documentation with the Director of Compensation & Recruitment to determine appropriate hire date and compensation.
  • Assist in daily recruitment functions, applicant tracking system enhancements, and integration of business practices, to improve recruitment practices, policies and procedures.
  • Serve as back-up for the administration of all recruitment and employment process.
  • Process I-9s for all employees.
  • Serve as back-up for the administration of the MS Skills Test and Typing exams for prospective job applicants, in a standardized manner in accordance with acceptable professional practices.
  • Develop and present training modules on recruitment process and Applicant Tracking System for supervisors, staff and faculty.
  • Participate in CCBC and other external job fairs; assist with the organization of CCBC job fairs.
  • Assist the Director of Compensation and Recruitment with the development of recruitment policies, procedures and strategies.
  • Analyze, prepare, and provide various reports (routine and specialized, for internal and external use) related to recruitment (including Affirmative Action Plan data-collection).
  • Interpret and apply HR policies and regulations pertaining to assigned functions to include posting, advertising, interviews, selection, hiring, and recommendations for salary placements.
  • Acquire up-to-date knowledge and skills pertaining to the field of recruitment by attending various professional organizations’ meetings, conferences, and trainings, and by maintaining contact with other recruitment professionals within the local area.
  • Act as liaison between HR and the employee/college community to ensure recruitment needs are met.
  • Must excel in professional interactions with employees at all levels of the organization; to include 24 hour turnaround for emails and phone calls, collegiate discussions and interactions with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Position may require work responsibilities at various college sites and outside of normal business hours.
