Job Summary
The Undergraduate Recruiter for the Hattiesburg Campus represents the university through outreach, engagement, and relationship-building within an assigned territory while establishing connections with high school and transfer students who are interested in attending WCU. Assisting the Admissions staff, the Recruiter also guides prospective students through the admissions process until their initial registration. The Undergraduate Recruiter manages a travel schedule, helps implement campus visits and events, and maintains relationships with high school and college representatives and organizations.

- Assist the university in implementing the Statement of Purpose.
- Assist the university in implementing the long-range institutional and financial plans.
- Recruit students in assigned territory as assigned by the Director of Recruitment.
- Represent WCU at in-person and virtual high school and community college events as well as university sponsored and community events.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with high school and community college counselors.
- Engage with potential students and WCU applicants regularly (phone, email, mail, text), and serve as a point of connection for students from the moment of interest until they enroll for classes.
- Host individual and group campus visits.
- Maintain a student correspondence file through Target X.
- Manage a travel schedule and maintain assigned vehicle.
- Assist in executing events sponsored by the Recruiting Department.
- Participate in the annual evaluation of the effectiveness of the Recruiting Department
- Perform other job-related tasks as deemed necessary for operation of the Recruiting Department and as assigned by the Director of Recruitment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Excellent customer service skills
- U.S. driver’s license, auto insurance and a clean driving history
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree from WCU
- Prior recruitment experience
- Prior CRM experience
- Prior computer experience
- Experience in Microsoft Office Suite
Physical Demands
- Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting, and to use standard office equipment, including a computer.
- Must have vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone.
- Must have the ability to sit for extended periods of time.
- Must have the ability to stand for extended periods of time.
- Must have strength and agility to move files, paper boxes, minor office equipment, recruitment supplies and setup equipment
