ABOUT THE ROLE
The Technical Talent Acquisition – Life Sciences position will be part of the Operations Department and will support the identification, evaluation, and selection of qualified technical resources for pharmaceutical and life-sciences projects. The ideal candidate must have previous experience working in pharmaceutical manufacturing or related regulated environments and understand the technical roles commonly required to support Automation, CSV, C&Q, Validation, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Project Management activities. This industry knowledge will allow the resource to work closely with Operations leadership to understand project needs and identify candidates with the appropriate technical background and experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
- Work directly with the Operations Director, Regional Leads, Site Leads, and other Operations personnel to identify current and upcoming resource needs.
- Understand project scopes, client requirements, and technical resource needs within pharmaceutical manufacturing environments.
- Translate project and operational requirements into clear job descriptions and candidate profiles.
- Review resumes and identify candidates whose technical experience aligns with project requirements.
- Conduct initial candidate interviews and evaluate technical background, pharmaceutical industry experience, communication skills, availability, compensation expectations, and overall fit.
- Evaluate whether candidates have practical experience in areas such as Automation, CSV, C&Q, Validation, Project Engineering, Manufacturing Support, and related technical disciplines.
- Present qualified and interview-ready candidates to Operations leadership.
- Coordinate candidate submissions and support preparation for client interviews when applicable.
- Develop and maintain a pipeline of qualified technical professionals for current and future project needs.
- Proactively identify professionals within Puerto Rico’s pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical-device, automation, validation, and engineering industries.
- Participate in client or site visits when necessary to better understand project environments and resource requirements.
- Maintain recruiting metrics, candidate pipelines, open-position status, and time-to-fill information.
- Support continuous improvement of the resource identification and recruiting process.
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- Previous professional experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical-device, or regulated life-sciences industry.
- Practical understanding of pharmaceutical manufacturing environments and GMP-regulated operations.
- Familiarity with technical disciplines such as Automation, Controls, CSV, Validation, C&Q, Project Engineering, Manufacturing Support, Instrumentation, or Project Management.
- Ability to understand project requirements and determine the type of technical resource required.
- Ability to evaluate technical resumes and distinguish between listed skills and actual hands-on industry experience.
- Ability to conduct technical and professional conversations with engineers, technicians, project managers, validation professionals, and Operations personnel.
- Strong judgment and decision-making skills when evaluating candidate fit.
- Ability to manage multiple open positions and candidate pipelines simultaneously.
- Strong organizational and follow-up skills.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining close coordination with Operations leadership.
- Strong people-management and interpersonal skills
- Strong communication skills with ability to speak to a wide range of people at all levels, including clients, company leadership, sales, and operations.
- Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Spanish.
Preferred
- Previous experience in positions such as Project Coordinator, Project Engineer, Project Manager, Automation Engineer/Specialist, CSV/Validation Professional, C&Q Professional, Manufacturing/Technical Operations, Engineering Services, or similar pharmaceutical technical roles.
- Previous recruiting or talent-acquisition experience within pharmaceutical or life-sciences environments.
- Existing professional network within Puerto Rico’s pharmaceutical and technical industries.
- Experience supporting staffing or resource planning for technical projects.
- Experience interacting directly with pharmaceutical clients or working at client manufacturing sites.
