The Role and Responsibilities
As a Talent Acquisition Specialist, you connect people with meaningful opportunities while helping Assisted Transportation build the teams it needs to succeed. You lead a people-focused, consistent recruiting experience from approved requisition through accepted offer, pre-employment coordination, and onboarding handoff. You independently evaluate candidates and provide substantive hiring recommendations while hiring managers retain final selection authority.
You build talent pipelines, represent the Company at hiring events and community outreach activities, and support new-hire readiness through accurate information, timely follow-up, and coordination with the Human Resources team.
You're a GSD'er - someone who Gets Stuff Done: proactive, resourceful, and accountable. While recruiting and onboarding are your primary responsibilities, you embrace a team-first approach, stepping outside your core role to support teammates, take ownership of other HR priorities, and contribute wherever needed.
Your Key Areas of Impact
Talent Acquisition & Manager Partnership: Taking ownership of recruiting strategy and execution, you partner with hiring managers to understand staffing priorities, position requirements, and hiring timelines. You develop sourcing strategies, maintain qualified pipelines, and engage candidates through job fairs and community outreach. Your efforts help reduce staffing gaps and support reliable operations.
Candidate Assessment & Hiring Recommendations: Applying your recruiting expertise and independent judgment, you conduct and document all initial phone screens and may participate virtually in onsite interviews. You assess job-related qualifications, availability, and candidate alignment; identify strengths, concerns, and hiring risks; and provide substantive recommendations that hiring managers rely on when making advancement and selection decisions. You reinforce structured, fair interviewing while managers retain final hiring authority.
Candidate Experience & Communication: Through genuine connection and dependable follow-through, you coordinate interviews, maintain timely communication, and provide accurate information about roles and expectations. You work with managers to obtain prompt decisions and ensure every candidate, including those not selected, receives positive, professional, and respectful experiences. Your responsiveness supports candidate engagement and reduces avoidable withdrawals.
Offers & Pre-Employment Coordination: With accuracy and urgency, you obtain required approvals, prepare approved offers, and confirm compensation, position, status, supervisor, location, and start date. You initiate applicable background checks, MVRs, drug screenings, physicals, and other requirements; track outstanding items; and escalate exceptions or eligibility concerns to the appropriate decision-maker. Your follow-through minimizes delays and rework.
Paycom, Orientation Handoff & Process Improvement: Using our ATS/HRIS as the source of truth, you maintain accurate applicant statuses, interview documentation, and recruiting records. You complete the recruiting handoff gate, move candidates to Pre-Employment Initiated as required by the workflow, and coordinate complete, accurate information through Ready for Onboarding without duplicate entry. You monitor recruiting KPIs and early-retention trends to identify improvements in speed, consistency, and new-hire readiness.
Team Collaboration & Department Support: With a team-first mindset and a willingness to roll up your sleeves, you contribute to the success of the entire Human Resources department, not just recruiting and onboarding. You actively support employee engagement, HR initiatives, employee communications, records management, and other department priorities as business needs evolve. Through cross-training, knowledge-sharing, and dependable backup coverage, you step in where needed, take ownership of assigned responsibilities, and follow through without waiting to be asked. You recognize that no task is beneath you and that department success is a shared responsibility. Your flexibility, initiative, and willingness to support work outside your primary role help eliminate silos, strengthen team capacity, and ensure employees and managers receive consistent, responsive HR support.
Requirements
You hold a bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, management, or a related field plus at least three (3) years of progressively responsible recruiting experience or have at least five (5) years of progressively responsible recruiting experience in lieu of a degree. Experience recruiting high-volume hourly, part-time, or variable-hour employees across multiple locations is preferred.
You bring full-cycle recruiting, structured interviewing, hiring-manager partnership, and pre-employment coordination experience, including the ability to exercise independent judgment and make substantive recommendations that influence hiring decisions. ATS/HRIS proficiency and Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams) are required; Paycom experience is a bonus! Strong communication, organization, discretion, problem-solving, and collaborative follow-through are essential.

Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends is required based on business needs. A valid driver's license, an acceptable motor vehicle record (MVR), and successful completion of required background checks are conditions of employment.
