The Talent Acquisition Specialist will support Salinas Valley Health’s recruitment efforts with a primary focus on sourcing and recruiting candidates for supervisory, management, and leadership positions within a healthcare environment. This position partners closely with hiring leaders to understand staffing needs, develop targeted recruitment strategies, and identify, assess, and present qualified candidates.

The TA Specialist conducts intake and strategy meetings with hiring leaders to gain an understanding of the position, department needs, qualifications, competencies, and ideal candidate profile. The role focuses on proactive sourcing, candidate engagement, talent pipeline development, candidate assessment, and supporting leaders throughout the selection and offer process.

Healthcare recruitment or Human Resources experience within a healthcare environment is strongly preferred. The ideal candidate will have an understanding of healthcare operations, positions, talent markets, and the unique recruitment needs of a healthcare organization.

This is a per diem position, approximately 20–25 hours per week, with scheduling flexibility based on recruitment needs.

  1. Performs specialized clerical and administrative functions (related to Employee Leaves of Absences, Recruitment, Benefits, or other specialized department needs).
  2. Answers requests for information, and communicates both verbally and in writing in a professional and knowledgeable manner while maintain confidentiality.
  3. Meets with employees, job applicants, and/or Department Directors to effectively assist and explain Human Resource programs as necessary.
  4. Correctly applies hospital and department policies as well as union and nonaffiliated contract language to the employment process.
  5. Performs work independently under general supervision, requiring specialized training or experience and knowledge in Human Resources Specialty area.
  6. Creates, inputs, and maintains computer data files, tracks data, and compiles reports as necessary.
  7. Regularly exercises discretion and independent judgment within established guidelines.
  8. Information Systems job responsibilities: If your job function involves primary responsibility for a hospital information system, the following job responsibilities apply:

o IT will review the Information Systems Standards and Best Practices concepts, requirements and documentation with effected employees at least once a year for understanding, completeness and accuracy.

  • Employee shall document the system management, maintenance, and support requirements in a location accessible to Information Technology and appropriate SVMH support staff who have responsibility.

Job Requirements

Education: Work requires knowledge normally acquired through the completion of an Associate degree in business or related field.

Licensure: None

Experience: A combination of education or experience in Human Resources equal to minimum of 3 years. Typing 45 words per minute, word processing proficiency, and computer record-keeping skills.

Pay Range: The hourly rate for this position is $56.40. - $65.00. The range displayed on this job posting reflects the target for new hire salaries for this position
