The Role

We are seeking an experienced Oil & Gas Recruiter to join our Talent Acquisition team. In this role, you will lead end-to-end recruitment strategies to identify, attract, and hire qualified technical, operational, engineering, and corporate professionals. You will work closely with executive leadership and site managers to navigate high-volume field hiring, niche technical engineering recruitment, and strict industry compliance requirements

Key Accountabilities

What you’ll do

  • Manage the full recruiting lifecycle for field operations, and corporate positions (e.g., Petroleum Engineers, HSE Specialists, Rig Crews, Asset Managers, Project Engineers, Pipeline Operators).
  • Proactively source and headhunt passive technical talent through LinkedIn Recruiter, specialized energy databases, trade associations, and networking events.
  • Build and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified candidates for recurring or hard-to-fill technical roles.
  • Partner with Hiring Managers, Project Managers, and Site Supervisors to define precise job requirements, technical competency profiles, and salary benchmarks.
  • Advise hiring teams on labor market trends, talent availability, competitive pay structures, and realistic time-to-fill expectations in the energy market.

Skills & Requirements

  • Coordinate pre-employment medical examinations, fit-for-duty testing, drug & alcohol screenings, and comprehensive background/reference checks in accordance with client and regulatory guidelines.
  • Ensure strict adherence to labor laws, equal employment opportunity (EEO) guidelines, and company Health, Safety, & Environment (HSE) policies.
  • Collaborate with HR and Mobilization teams to ensure seamless candidate onboarding, travel logistics, site orientation, and badging.
  • Strong understanding of upstream, midstream, and downstream operations, as well as field terminology, rotational schedules, and certifications.
  • Experience recruiting within both traditional fossil fuels and emerging energy transition sector initiatives (e.g., CCUS, Hydrogen, Renewables).

  • We are committed to pay transparency and fairness. For this role, the initial expected remuneration is $61k to 80k CAD plus applicable benefits.

This range is specific to the advertised locations and may not be applicable to other locations.
