Overview

The Talent Acquisition Partner, Clinical Recruitment serves as a strategic talent advisor supporting the recruitment of clinical and healthcare-related positions across the organization. This role partners closely with Hiring Managers, HR Partners, and operational leaders to develop and execute recruitment strategies that attract high-quality clinical talent in a competitive healthcare market.

The Clinical TA Partner manages full-cycle recruitment while providing expertise in workforce planning, talent market trends, candidate assessment, offer negotiation, and recruitment best practices. The role also supports recruitment for union-represented positions, applying an understanding of applicable collective bargaining agreements, hiring processes, and requirements to ensure a consistent and compliant recruitment experience. This role is responsible for delivering an exceptional candidate and hiring manager experience while ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and compliance requirements.

Clinical Recruitment Strategy & Partnership

  • Serve as a trusted Talent Acquisition Partner to clinical departments and healthcare leadership teams.
  • Lead Recruitment Strategy Discussions (RSDs) with Hiring Managers to understand clinical staffing needs, role requirements, operational priorities, and workforce challenges.
  • Develop and execute targeted sourcing and recruitment strategies for clinical, patient care, and healthcare support roles.
  • Provide consultation on job descriptions, market competitiveness, candidate availability, and recruitment timelines.
  • Advise Hiring Managers on recruitment best practices, interview processes, candidate evaluation strategies, compensation considerations, and applicable University and/or union policies and procedures.
  • Share labor market insights, healthcare recruiting trends, and recruitment metrics with stakeholders throughout the search process.

Candidate Sourcing & Assessment

  • Lead sourcing efforts to build diverse talent pipelines for clinical and healthcare-related positions.
  • Conduct recruiter screenings to evaluate candidate qualifications, licensure/certification requirements, clinical experience, and organizational fit.

Candidate Experience & Offer Management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for candidates throughout the recruitment lifecycle.
  • Deliver a high-touch, responsive, and professional candidate experience from initial outreach through onboarding transition.
  • Collaborate with Compensation and HR teams to develop competitive offers aligned with market conditions and internal equity.
  • Extend verbal offers, manage offer negotiations, and communicate onboarding expectations and next steps.

Recruitment Operations & Compliance

  • Monitor recruitment activity, metrics, and hiring progress to ensure alignment with service expectations and hiring goals.
  • Analyze recruitment data and trends to identify opportunities for process improvement and workforce planning support.
  • Ensure compliance with employment policies, healthcare hiring requirements, and applicable legal and regulatory guidelines.
  • Participate in recruitment events, healthcare career fairs, and talent outreach initiatives to strengthen clinical talent pipelines.

Schedule

  • Full-Time - 37.5 HRS; Monday thru Friday 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM. Some early mornings, and evenings may be required.
  • This position will be onsite a minimum of 4 days per week

Required Skills and Abilities

1.Experience managing full-cycle recruitment, supporting clinical, healthcare, and/or patient care positions; Knowledge of healthcare recruitment practices, labor market trends, and credentialing/licensure considerations.

2.Demonstrated ability to build strong partnerships and influence stakeholders in a collaborative environment; strong communication, relationship management, and consultative skills with the ability to influence and build credibility quickly.

3.Ability to analyze recruiting metrics and use data to inform hiring strategies and decision-making.

4.Commitment to delivering a positive candidate and hiring manager experience; Experience conducting candidate assessments and behavioral interviews.

5.Experience working within complex, team-oriented organizations.

Preferred Skills and Abilities

1.At least 5 years of experience managing full-cycle recruitment, supporting clinical, healthcare, and/or patient care positions.

2.Experience recruiting in an academic healthcare, hospital, or healthcare system environment. Preferably in provider recruitment (ie. MD/DO, APP (APRN/PA), Mental Health Providers (ie. PHD, PSY’s, LCSW, LMSW, LPC), RN, Diagnostic Imaging Professionals (CT, MRI, Ultrasound, X-Ray).

3.Experience using Workday and Phenom or comparable Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and Candidate Relationship Management (CRM) platforms.

4.Knowledge of healthcare workforce trends and hard-to-fill clinical talent markets.

5.Basic understanding of medical terminology and specialties.

Principal Responsibilities

  1. Plan and execute recruitment strategy discussions with hiring managers to understand and support near and long-term hiring needs. Set sourcing and selection strategies for assigned openings. Interpret recruiting plan for TA Sourcing Specialists as needs develop and change. Collaborate and communicate with department leaders and HR Partners to align on workforce and recruiting plans. Support DEIB/unrepresented talent goals and New Haven hiring goals. Provide relevant reporting and metrics at key touchpoints.
  2. Advise on leading TA practices through all stages of the recruitment funnel. Provide consultation on job description and job ad aligning with Yale brand and EVP; share preliminary candidate slates; guide hiring managers on appropriate and inclusive interview techniques, questions, and evaluations; conduct interview debrief sessions on a regular basis; coordinate the collection of offer details and creation of offer terms, overseeing the generation of formal offer letters, extending verbal offer, and handling negotiations.
  3. Serve as a key point of contact for candidates through the recruiting process ensuring a seamless candidate experience. Assess talent by conducting screening interviews to evaluate candidate expertise and alignment to job qualifications. Communicate offer terms to candidate (e.g., coordination of start date) and handoff for new hire administration.
  4. Deliver a seamless and efficient hiring experience for hiring managers and candidates through collaboration with TA team members within a pod structure including TA Partners, TA Sourcing Specialists and TA Coordinators.
  5. Actively monitor personal TA Partner dashboard to manage workload and productivity and maintain alignment with TA Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and measures of success.
  6. Ensure compliance with policies, collective bargaining agreements and legal requirements for handling escalations or appeals.

Required Education and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree and four years of professional human resources experience or an equivalent education or experience in a related field.
