Title: Talent Acquisition and Onboarding Specialist

Pay: $63,000 - $66,000

Location: Phoenix, AZ, on-site with travel between UMOM campuses

Schedule:Full-time, Monday to Friday, with occasional evenings or weekends

Every family we serve is supported by someone you helped hire.

At UMOM New Day Centers, our mission is to end family homelessness by restoring hope and rebuilding lives. That work depends on great people in every role, from 24/7 shelter teams to programs and administration. We're looking for a Talent Acquisition and Onboarding Specialist to find them, hire them well, and make sure they feel welcome from day one.

You'll own how people join UMOM, from the first conversation with a hiring manager through a new hire's first 90 days.

What you'll do

  • Partner with hiring managers to define what each role needs and what success looks like before it's posted.
  • Run full-cycle recruiting, from writing postings and phone screens to interviews and offers, and close the loop with every candidate.
  • Get new hires cleared and ready, including fingerprint clearance, background checks, and other pre-hire steps.
  • Lead New Hire Orientation and keep improving it so every new hire connects with UMOM's mission and values.
  • Check in at 90 days and use hiring and onboarding results to make the process better.
  • Be a welcoming first stop for employees with HR questions, as part of a cross-trained People Operations team.

What you bring

  • 3+ years of recruiting, talent acquisition, or HR experience, including full-cycle hiring from intake to offer
  • Experience with an applicant tracking system and HRIS
  • A warm, organized approach to working with candidates and hiring managers

Nice to have

  • High-volume or hourly hiring experience (strongly preferred)
  • Experience facilitating new hire orientation or training
  • Nonprofit or human services experience
  • Familiarity with the Predictive Index. We'll train you.

Why you'll love it here

  • Your work is visible. You'll see the impact of every great hire on our teams and the families they serve.
  • Hiring that's done well. You'll use tools like the Predictive Index to help managers make thoughtful, consistent hiring decisions.
  • A supportive team. Our People Operations Coordinator handles scheduling and tracking, so you can focus on people.
  • $0 premiums for employee-only medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • 401(k) with employer contributions of 3.5% of pay when you contribute, growing to 5% at 3 years and 10% at 5 years of service
  • Employer-paid life insurance, short-term disability, and HSA contributions with our high-deductible plan
  • Free Employee Assistance Program and telehealth access
  • Paid time off and paid holidays
  • Public Service Loan Forgiveness: as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, UMOM is a qualifying employer
