SENIOR TALENT ACQUISITION PARTNER
Large, Established Electrical Contractor | National Presence with a Strong West Coast Footprint
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Talent Acquisition Partner who can take ownership of recruiting across a large, established union electrical contractor. This is a hands-on recruiting role for someone who knows how to find talented people, build relationships, create pipelines, and move quickly when the right candidate is identified.
The successful candidate will work directly with company executives, department leaders, and hiring managers to recruit professional, technical, project, and support positions across the organization. We are looking for someone who combines strong sourcing ability with urgency, organization, sound judgment, and the confidence to work effectively with senior leaders.
This position is best suited for a recruiter who is proactive rather than reactive. We want someone who actively searches for talent, develops industry relationships, understands our future workforce needs, and continuously builds a pipeline of people we may want to hire before a position becomes available.
What We Are Looking For
- Takes ownership and follows searches through to completion.
- Is comfortable directly sourcing and approaching passive candidates.
- Develops relationships within the construction and engineering community rather than relying primarily on job postings.
- Understands that speed matters when a strong candidate becomes available.
- Communicates consistently with candidates and hiring managers and does not allow searches to stall.
- Can develop credibility with executives, project leaders, technical professionals, and candidates.
- Is organized, disciplined, and accountable for recruiting activity and results.
- Thinks beyond today's openings and continuously develops talent pipelines for future company needs.
- Uses recruiting data and market intelligence to improve results, not simply report activity.
- Represents the company professionally and understands that every candidate interaction affects our reputation in the industry.
Why Join Us
- We are an established electrical contractor providing opportunities to recruit talent for large, complex, and technically challenging projects. Our work spans multiple markets and creates career opportunities across project management, estimating, engineering, VDC/BIM, prefabrication, operations, accounting, and other professional disciplines.
- We believe strong recruiting is fundamental to the long-term success of the company. This position will have direct access to company leadership and the opportunity to influence how we identify, attract, hire, and develop the next generation of our organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage full-cycle recruiting from approved requisition through accepted offer and transition to onboarding.
- Partner directly with executives, department leaders, and hiring managers to understand the business need behind each opening, define the candidate profile, establish recruiting priorities and target dates, and maintain momentum throughout the search.
- Provide hiring managers with honest market feedback regarding candidate availability, compensation, competition, position requirements, and obstacles that may be limiting the company's ability to attract strong candidates.
- Source and engage qualified candidates for project management, project engineering, field engineering, accounting, purchasing, estimating, engineering, VDC/BIM, prefabrication, operations, and other support roles.
- Build and continuously develop talent pipelines for critical and difficult-to-fill positions, anticipated project needs, internships, and future leadership needs. Maintain relationships with strong potential candidates even when an immediate opening does not exist.
- Use LinkedIn Recruiter, Indeed, employee referrals, industry networks, trade and professional associations, colleges, universities, and approved recruiting partners to identify candidates.
- Conduct initial candidate screening, present qualified candidates to hiring managers, and maintain timely communication throughout the process.
- Coordinate recruiting workflow while hiring managers schedule interviews and provide prompt, documented feedback.
- Maintain accurate candidate, requisition, interview, offer, source, and disposition data in company recruiting systems and tracking tools.
- Own college recruiting relationships, career fair planning, internship pipelines, campus contacts, registrations, sponsorship commitments, and post-event follow-up.
- Manage approved outside recruiting agency relationships, including agreements, fees, candidate ownership, guarantees, and active searches.
- Prepare and coordinate offer documentation, required approvals, background or driving checks, and handoff to HR and onboarding partners.
- Create a consistent, professional candidate experience with responsive follow-up and clear expectations at every stage.
- Advise leaders on labor-market conditions, recruiting channels, compensation trends, position requirements, and hiring-process improvements.
- Track recruiting effectiveness and provide regular reporting on open positions, aging, pipeline health, source effectiveness, interviews, offers, acceptances, declines, and upcoming workforce demand.
- Maintain current job descriptions, interview guides, recruiting templates, candidate tracking tools, career fair materials, and recruiting calendars.
- Follow applicable employment laws, collective bargaining considerations, company policies, confidentiality requirements, and record-retention practices.
Required Qualifications
- Five (5) or more years of professional recruiting or talent acquisition experience, including experience independently managing multiple active requisitions.
- Demonstrated success directly sourcing and recruiting professional and technical candidates within construction, electrical contracting, engineering, specialty contracting, or another project-based technical industry, including experience recruiting passive candidates who were not actively seeking employment.
- Working knowledge of recruiting workflow, applicant tracking systems, job boards, offer coordination, candidate documentation, and recruiting metrics.
- Ability to develop strong working relationships with executives, operations leaders, hiring managers, candidates, colleges, and external partners.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, organization, follow-through, judgment, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and modern recruiting platforms, including LinkedIn Recruiter, Indeed, Arcoro and UKG.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, communications, or a related field.
- Experience recruiting in a union construction environment and familiarity with collective bargaining relationships.
- Knowledge of electrical contracting roles, career paths, and construction project staffing needs.
- Experience leading college recruiting, internship programs, career fairs, and employer-brand outreach.
Success Measures
- Success will be measured by the ability to consistently identify and attract strong candidates, maintain active pipelines for critical positions, move qualified candidates through the hiring process with appropriate urgency, maintain strong communication with hiring managers and candidates, and provide leadership with clear visibility into recruiting activity, challenges, and results.
- Equally important, the successful candidate will build relationships throughout the industry that strengthen the company's ability to recruit talent over the long term.
Work Environment and Travel
This position is based in our City of Industry office and is expected to work primarily onsite in a professional office setting, with travel to company offices, jobsites, colleges, career fairs, industry events, and partner organizations as required.
If you are a recruiter who enjoys finding people others have difficulty finding, building long-term industry relationships, and taking ownership of a search from beginning to end, we would like to hear from you.
