Job Overview

In partnership with the System Director of Talent Acquisition and Workforce Planning, this position develops and executes the talent acquisition strategies to attract, engage, and hire top talent who embody our values and will support our mission of delivering exceptional patient care and empowering people to live their best lives. This role requires balancing strategic leadership with day-to-day operational priorities, using data and recruitment insights to drive decisions, and adapt quickly as business and workforce needs evolve.

This Senior Manager is responsible for oversight of the recruitment for Tufts Medical Center in Boston, MA. and ambulatory recruitment across the system, including oversight and partnership supporting Lowell General Hospital and Melrose Wakefield Hospital. As a member of the Talent Acquisition (TA) leadership team, you will help streamline and optimize the recruitment process and candidate experience across the Tufts Medicine system.

Job Description

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  2. Ten (10) or more years of experience in Talent Acquisition, Human Resources, or a related field.
  3. Two (2) or more years of experience leading a team of Human Resources professionals.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Master’s degree in a related field, such as Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  2. Five (5) or more years of experience leading a team of Talent Acquisition professionals.
  3. Talent Acquisition management experience in healthcare setting.
  4. Workday experience.

Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities listed below are intended to describe the general nature of work and are not intended to be an all-inclusive list. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

  1. Works with the organization's leadership team to assess and diagnose organizational needs relative to business performance gaps; design and implement innovative talent acquisition strategies, context, and framework and set plans to resolve gaps, including process optimization, service delivery, as well as talent reach and pipeline expansion.
  2. Partners with the Center of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) and the DEI councils design and implement strategies and initiatives to attract and hire a diverse workforce that mirrors the communities we serve.
  3. Develops deep knowledge about the organization’s business model, the consumer, competitive, political, and social environments in which the organization operates, and understanding the importance of actively engaging with and shaping these environments.
  4. Functions as an engaged, trusted partner with HR and business leaders.
  5. Builds and maintains relationships with the community benefits team, external community partners, agencies, education institutions, and professional networks to expand the candidate pipeline.
  6. Innovates creative approaches to attract talent and manage recruitment budgets (advertising, job fairs, etc.), allocate resources effectively, and track key recruitment metrics to assess the success of strategies.
  7. Establishes and monitors recruitment metrics and KPIs to ensure the team's performance meets or exceeds goals.
  8. Utilizes data-driven insights to identify areas for improvement and optimize the recruitment process to increase efficiency and effectiveness and provide seamless candidate experience.
  9. Collaborates with marketing and communication teams in employer branding initiatives to enhance the company's reputation as an employer of choice.
  10. Participates and collaborates with the HR technology team, as part of the TA leadership team, in any TA related technology projects and improvements.
  11. Stays current with emerging healthcare industry trends, talent acquisition tools and technologies and integrate relevant practices into the team's operations.
  12. Develops regular cadence and rigor of communications through reporting and presentations like the Quarterly Operation Review (QOR) to inform entity executives and advisory groups about talent acquisition progress, opportunities, and insights to inform business decisions.

  8. Proficiency in utilizing applicant tracking systems, other recruitment tools and HR software.
  9. Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  10. Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  11. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a complex team environment.

Job Profile Summary

This role focuses on supporting the design, development, and implementation of human resource programs and policies, including recruitment, training and development, compensation and benefits, mobility, talent acquisition, diversity, talent management & organization development and employee/labor relations. In addition, this role focuses on performing the following Talent Acquisition duties: Attracts, finds, and acquires skilled labor for organization needs including talent evaluation and screening (assessing skills, testing, ranking, reference checking, etc.), job advertising and posting internally and externally, including third party recruiting agencies, talent prospecting at employment fairs and on campus at educational institutions, talent staffing and planning, managing new employee induction process, and may be responsible for exit interviews. A management role that supervises employees focusing on tactical, operational activities within a specified area, with the majority of time spent overseeing area of responsibility, planning, prioritizing and/or directing the responsibilities of employees. Goal achievement is typically accomplished through performance of direct and/or indirect reports. A role that manages experienced professionals who exercise latitude and independence in assignments. Responsibilities typically include: policy and strategy implementation for short-term results (1 year or less), problems faced are difficult to moderately complex, and influences others outside of own job area regarding policies, practices and procedures.
