Job Summary
The Senior Manager of Field Recruiting will lead and manage all aspects of field recruiting across Potbellys company-owned operations and may also serve as a consultant to Potbelly franchisees. This role will develop and execute brand-specific recruiting strategies that reflect Potbellys business needs, values, and growth plans while partnering closely with Shared Services on recruiting systems, technology, platform strategy, and related process improvements. The ideal candidate will bring a strategic, hands-on approach, strong knowledge of the hospitality and restaurant talent landscape, and excellent leadership, communication, sourcing, and assessment skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Recruitment Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive field recruitment strategy that aligns with the organization's goals, ensuring that we attract and retain top talent to drive business success.
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Field Recruiting Partners providing guidance, training, and support to ensure they meet their individual and team recruitment targets.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate closely with Field Operations Leadership, and HR Business Partners to understand their staffing needs and develop recruiting and retention strategies that align with their goals.
- Candidate Sourcing: Develop and execute sourcing and recruitment marketing strategies that leverage Potbellys employee value proposition to build strong talent pipelines for all field roles. Partner with Shared Services to effectively use enterprise-selected recruiting platforms and personally manage assigned searches.
- Candidate Selection: Oversee the candidate selection process, leveraging enterprise tools and solutions provided by Shared Services to equip hiring teams to consistently identify the best-qualified candidates while maintaining compliance.
- Employer Branding: Enhance the company's employer brand by developing and maintaining a clear Employee Value Proposition (EVP) to attract top talent and maintain a positive reputation in the talent market.
- Data Analysis: Utilize data and analytics to measure the effectiveness of recruiting efforts, identify areas for improvement, and provide insights for better decision-making. Develop core KPIs for TA for Potbelly that can serve as benchmarks to assess performance.
- Compliance: Ensure recruiting practices are executed consistently and in accordance with applicable employment laws and regulations, including OFCCP requirements, while partnering with Shared Services, which owns system-related compliance and controls.
- Innovation: Stay updated on the latest recruiting trends, technologies, and best practices.
- Recruiting Systems Adoption: Ensure the recruiting team effectively and consistently uses the applicant tracking system, internal and external career sites, and other enterprise solutions provided by Shared Services. Provide training and reinforce proper system use across the team.
- Reporting: Lead communication and accurate reporting and metrics to Field Operations Leadership.
- Franchise New Shop Openings: Coordinate franchise recruiting system setup for new shop openings, serving as the liaison between franchisees and Shared Services,
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field. A master's degree is a plus.
Proven experience in field recruiting, preferably in the restaurant or hospitality industry.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
Strategic thinker with the ability to create and implement effective recruitment strategies.
Demonstrated experience in talent acquisition metrics and data-driven decision-making.
Knowledge of relevant employment laws and regulations. Experience in OFCCP compliance is a strong plus.
Experience with applicant tracking systems and other HR software.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
