The Recruitment Specialist is responsible for supporting and executing full-cycle recruitment activities across the Trotter & Morton Group of Companies. This position partners closely with hiring managers and Human Resources to understand workforce requirements, attract qualified candidates, and support an efficient and positive candidate experience. The Recruitment Specialist will develop a strong understanding of the business, its operations, workforce needs, and organizational culture in order to effectively identify and recruit talent. The role will have a particular focus on sourcing qualified candidates for skilled trades, technical, field, and corporate positions and supporting recruitment initiatives that align with the organization's current and future workforce requirements.

Roles and Responsibilities
- Manage and support full-cycle recruitment activities across the Trotter & Morton Group of Companies, including job postings, candidate sourcing, resume screening, pre-screening, interview coordination, reference checks, offer preparation, and recruitment-related onboarding activities.
- Partner with hiring managers and HR representatives to understand position requirements, develop effective recruitment strategies, and provide guidance throughout the recruitment process.
- Source candidates through a variety of channels, including job boards, social media, professional networks, employee referrals, recruitment databases, industry organizations, schools, trade organizations, and other talent networks.
- Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified candidates for current and anticipated hiring needs, with a particular focus on skilled trades and other hard-to-fill positions.
- Coordinate and participate in career fairs, recruitment events, school and industry outreach initiatives, and other talent attraction activities.
- Build and maintain relationships with candidates throughout the recruitment process, ensuring a professional, timely, and positive candidate experience.
- Review applications and conduct initial candidate assessments and pre-screening interviews to determine alignment with position requirements.
- Coordinate interviews between candidates and hiring managers and ensure appropriate follow-up and communication throughout the process.
- Complete reference checks and other pre-employment requirements as applicable.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date recruitment records, candidate information, and documentation within the organization's HR and recruitment systems.
- Monitor recruitment activity and prepare reports and metrics as required, including open positions, candidate pipelines, time-to-fill, sources of hire, and other recruitment-related measures.
- Identify opportunities to improve recruitment processes, systems, tools, and candidate experience and assist with implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support the development and maintenance of recruitment materials, job descriptions, career postings, employer branding content, and other talent attraction resources.
- Assist with the Temporary Foreign Worker (TFW) program and logistics
- Support recruitment initiatives across multiple geographic locations and business units, including coordinating recruitment requirements with regional HR and operational teams.
- Ensure recruitment activities are conducted in accordance with applicable legislation, company policies, and established HR practices.
- Support and participate in Human Resources projects, initiatives, and events as directed.
- Maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive candidate and employee information.
- Perform other duties as required
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of recruitment practices, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, candidate assessment, and full-cycle recruitment.
- Proven ability to build relationships and effectively partner with hiring managers, HR team members, candidates, and external recruitment partners.
- Strong communication skills, including professional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, vacancies, and deadlines simultaneously.
- Strong sourcing and networking skills with the ability to identify and engage candidates through a variety of recruitment channels.
- Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively within a collaborative HR team environment.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to identify recruitment challenges and recommend practical solutions.
- Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy when maintaining recruitment documentation and candidate information.
- Strong computer skills and ability to learn and effectively utilize HRIS, applicant tracking systems, job boards, Microsoft Office, and other recruitment technology.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment.
- A proactive approach with a focus on continuous improvement, innovation, and finding creative solutions to recruitment challenges.
- Ability to represent Trotter & Morton professionally at career fairs, industry events, schools, and other external recruitment activities.
Required Education and Experience
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
- 3-5 years of recruitment or Human Resources experience, preferably with experience supporting full-cycle recruitment.
- Experience with applicant tracking systems, HRIS platforms, job boards, and recruitment databases.
- Experience recruiting skilled trades, construction, engineering, technical, or other specialized roles is considered an asset.
- Experience recruiting for multiple locations, business units, or high-volume environments is an asset.
- Experience coordinating and attending career fairs, recruitment events, school outreach, or industry networking events is an asset.
Additional Requirements
- Travel may be required to support recruitment activities, career fairs, job fairs, company locations, schools, and other external events.
- Occasional evening or weekend work may be required to support recruitment events or business requirements.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage changing recruitment priorities.
