About Steves & Sons

Steves & Sons is a leading manufacturer of premium doors and door systems with more than 160 years of history. Founded in 1866, our family-owned company has built a strong reputation in the building-products industry through a longstanding commitment to quality, craftsmanship, innovation, and service.

As our organization continues to grow, we are seeking an experienced manufacturing recruiter who understands the pace, challenges, and workforce needs of a production environment.

Position Summary

Steves & Sons is seeking an experienced and results-driven Recruitment Compliance Specialist (Manufacturing Recruiter) to support recruiting efforts for our manufacturing operations.

This position is ideal for a hands-on recruiter who is comfortable managing the full recruiting lifecycle independently, from sourcing and candidate outreach through interviewing, selection, pre-employment coordination, and onboarding support.

The Recruitment Compliance Specialist will focus heavily on recruiting hourly manufacturing and skilled-trades talent, including production employees, warehouse personnel, maintenance technicians, and other critical plant positions.

The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, resourceful, and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This individual should know how to build candidate pipelines, develop effective sourcing strategies, support high-volume hiring needs, and provide a professional candidate experience from initial contact through hire.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage full-cycle recruiting activities for hourly manufacturing, production, warehouse, maintenance, skilled-trades, and other assigned positions.
  • Partner with hiring managers and HR leadership to understand staffing needs, position requirements, hiring priorities, and recruiting timelines.
  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies designed to attract qualified candidates in competitive labor markets.
  • Source candidates through job boards, social media, community outreach, employee referrals, recruiting events, job fairs, and other recruiting channels.
  • Proactively build and maintain candidate pipelines for frequently hired and difficult-to-fill manufacturing positions.
  • Screen applications and resumes to identify candidates whose skills and experience align with position requirements.
  • Conduct initial candidate interviews and provide qualified candidate recommendations to hiring managers.
  • Coordinate interviews and maintain timely communication with candidates and internal hiring teams throughout the recruiting process.
  • Support recruiting efforts for warehouse, maintenance, production, skilled-trades, and related manufacturing positions.
  • Participate in and coordinate job fairs, hiring events, community recruiting initiatives, and other talent-acquisition activities.
  • Maintain accurate and timely candidate information, recruiting activity, interview documentation, and hiring records within the Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
  • Support consistent recruiting and hiring practices in accordance with company policies and applicable employment requirements.
  • Monitor recruiting activity and communicate hiring progress, candidate pipeline status, and recruiting challenges to HR leadership.
  • Deliver a professional, responsive, and positive candidate experience throughout the hiring process.
  • Manage multiple open positions and recruiting priorities while maintaining accuracy, urgency, and attention to detail.
  • Support additional recruiting, onboarding, and HR initiatives as business needs require.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of manufacturing recruiting experience required.
  • Demonstrated experience recruiting and hiring hourly production employees.
  • Experience recruiting for warehouse, maintenance, skilled-trades, and manufacturing positions.
  • Experience with candidate sourcing, recruiting events, and job fairs.
  • Experience managing the full recruiting lifecycle independently.
  • Previous experience working with an Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
  • Strong sourcing and candidate-pipeline development skills.
  • Strong interviewing and candidate-assessment skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple openings and competing priorities simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with urgency while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.
  • Ability to develop productive working relationships with hiring managers, HR partners, candidates, and community recruiting resources.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on manufacturing recruiting environment.
  • Strong commitment to providing a professional and respectful candidate experience.
