About the Role

We are seeking a Recruitment & Community Outreach Specialist to connect women experiencing homelessness, housing instability, substance use disorders, mental health conditions, trauma, justice-system involvement, and other barriers to the services they need.

This is a community-based, relationship-focused role. You will meet women where they are—including shelters, treatment facilities, correctional facilities, community centers, faith-based organizations, and other approved locations—to build trust and connect them with voluntary, supportive services.

What You'll Do

  • Conduct community outreach and recruit women who may benefit from available programs and services.
  • Build relationships with shelters, treatment providers, correctional facilities, courts, reentry organizations, faith-based groups, and other community partners.
  • Explain program eligibility, services, and intake procedures clearly and respectfully.
  • Build trusting relationships using trauma-informed and culturally responsive communication.
  • Connect participants to counseling, substance use treatment, recovery housing, peer support, employment services, benefits, and community resources.
  • Coordinate warm handoffs and follow up to help ensure successful connections.
  • Assist with transportation and documentation needs when authorized.
  • Support pre-release and post-release connections for justice-involved women.
  • Document outreach, referrals, follow-up, enrollments, and service connections accurately.
  • Participate in case staffing, team meetings, and quality improvement activities.
  • Follow HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2 when applicable, confidentiality requirements, safety protocols, and professional boundaries.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience working with women experiencing homelessness, housing instability, mental health conditions, substance use disorders, or co-occurring disorders.
  • Experience in outreach, recruitment, recovery support, reentry, case management, or human services.
  • Strong communication, relationship-building, organization, and follow-through skills.
  • Ability to work independently and build relationships in the community.
  • Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to approved outreach locations.
  • Ability to work respectfully with individuals experiencing complex barriers and challenging circumstances.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CDCA, LCDC, Behavioral Health Specialist, or comparable training.
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in human services, social work, behavioral health, addiction studies, psychology, or a related field.
  • Experience working with women impacted by trauma, domestic violence, human trafficking, incarceration, or treatment disruption.
  • Relevant lived experience with recovery, housing instability, or justice-system involvement is valued alongside professional experience.

Why Join Us?

You'll have the opportunity to make a direct impact in the lives of women working toward recovery, stability, and independence while helping strengthen connections between individuals and the community resources available to them.

If you're passionate about outreach, relationship-building, recovery, and helping women overcome barriers to stability, we'd love to hear from you.
