THE ROLE
You keep MEB’s hiring process organized and moving. You run the day-to-day work behind every open role: postings, the applicant tracking system, first-round screens, interview scheduling, and candidate communication in English and Spanish. You work directly with the Recruiter and the talent team, and you take on more of the recruiting work as your skills grow.
WHAT YOU WILL OWN
- Job postings. Post, update, and close openings across job boards and the MEB career page.
- ATS management. Own the accuracy of the applicant tracking system: candidate stages, notes, dispositions, and records.
- Applicant review. Review incoming applications against role requirements and decide which candidates move forward to a screen.
- First-round screens. Run phone screens in English and Spanish, assess qualifications, and recommend next steps to the recruiting team.
- Interview scheduling. Coordinate interviews between candidates and hiring managers, at the office or on the jobsite.
- Candidate communication. Keep candidates informed at every step and answer their questions in either language.
- Recruiting data. Keep hiring data current so the team can see where every open role stands.
WHAT YOU BRING
- Fluency in spoken and written Spanish and English (required)
- High school diploma or equivalent. An associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field is a plus
- 1+ years in recruiting, HR, or administrative support preferred, not required
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office. Experience with an ATS or recruiting software is a plus
- Organized and detail oriented, able to manage several open roles at once
- Experience in construction or the trades is a plus
- Commitment to your own development. This role is designed as a development path to Recruiter
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Office based in Hampton Roads, with occasional visits to project sites and hiring events
- Required PPE when on active jobsites
- Extended computer and phone work. Occasionally lift and carry up to 25 lbs
COMPENSATION
The anticipated starting salary for this position is $50,000 to $60,000 per year. This is the range we expect to pay someone starting in this position. Where an offer lands within it depends on the experience you bring, the skills that apply to this work, the scope you have carried before, and what we pay people already doing equivalent work here. The range covers base pay. It is a starting range, not a ceiling. People move up through it and past it as they grow with us.
