CRST has an exciting opportunity for you to join our Early Talent Program within our summer internship program as a Recruiting Intern on our Human Resources team. You will be a part of our Corporate Recruiting team supporting all facets of the business including operations across all business units and our enterprise support functions.
The Recruiting Intern supports recruiting activities through candidate engagement, recruiting operations, project work, and professional development opportunities. This role gains hands-on experience in recruiting processes, candidate attraction strategies, recruiting analytics, employment branding, and workforce planning while developing professional and business skills. The Recruiting Intern contributes to team objectives while supporting both driver and corporate recruiting efforts and preparing for future career opportunities.
Here is what you can expect
- Recruiting Support: Assist with day-to-day recruiting activities, candidate tracking, scheduling, and recruiting operations
- Candidate Experience: Support candidate communications, interview coordination, hiring events, and recruiting outreach efforts
- Sourcing Support: Assist with identifying and researching potential candidates through recruiting platforms, databases, networking resources, and lead-generation activities
- Recruiting Analytics: Support recruiting reports, hiring metrics, dashboards, and recruiting data analysis
- Employment Branding: Assist with job postings, recruiting marketing efforts, career fairs, hiring events, referral programs, and employment brand initiatives
- Applicant Processing: Support candidate workflow, application review, documentation, background screening coordination, and hiring processes
- Project Participation: Support recruiting initiatives through research, coordination, documentation, and implementation activities
- Process Improvement: Assist with identifying opportunities to improve recruiting processes, candidate experience, and operational efficiency
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with recruiting team members, HR partners, operational leaders, and business stakeholders to support hiring objectives
- Professional Development: Participate in learning opportunities, mentorship activities, and business meetings to build recruiting and business knowledge
- Adaptability: Learn recruiting systems, hiring processes, sourcing strategies, and business operations while supporting assigned work
- Senior Leadership Exposure: Learn from our Senior Leaders from day 1 and present your project and experience to them at the end of the summer!
- Accountability and Reliability: Maintain regular and reliable attendance while performing other duties as assigned to support team and business needs
The Summer Internship Program is where students are exposed to the transportation industry, engaged in real-world problem-solving, and immersed in social and educational opportunities with other interns and leaders across the organization. You will have the opportunity to work hand in hand with different business entities to accomplish company objectives and goals.
Here is what we are looking for
- Education: Currently pursuing a degree in human resources, business, communications, psychology, marketing, organizational leadership, or a related field
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Relationship Building: Ability to engage professionally with candidates, employees, and stakeholders
- Organization: Ability to manage multiple assignments while maintaining attention to detail
- Learning Agility: Ability to learn new systems, recruiting processes, and business concepts quickly
Preferred Qualifications
- Recruiting Interest: Interest in recruiting, candidate sourcing, employment branding, HR, sales, customer acquisition, or related fields
- Customer Service Experience: Experience working directly with customers, candidates, employees, students, or other stakeholders
- Technology: Experience using Microsoft Office, applicant tracking systems, CRM platforms, social media, or recruiting tools
- Project Experience: Experience supporting projects, events, research, or organizational initiatives
- Leadership Experience: Participation in student organizations, athletics, volunteer groups, or leadership activities
Physical Requirements: Ability to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation. Regular use of a computer, telephone, and standard office equipment is required. The position may require the ability to observe surroundings, read documents and screens, distinguish visual signals, and communicate effectively with others in person, by telephone, radio, or other communication devices. The position generally involves prolonged periods of sitting, frequent written and verbal communication, and the ability to move throughout office and operational areas as needed. The position primarily requires indoor work. Occasional travel may be required. The position may also require lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling materials weighing up to 25 pounds.

- Interns who successfully complete the Early Talent Program are considered for full-time positions within CRST upon graduation with additional benefits.
