Recruiting Coordinator – Skilled Trades & Craft Labor

Location: Texas – Remote
Preferred Areas: West Texas, Permian Basin, Dallas/Fort Worth, or surrounding Texas markets
Travel: Regional travel required for career fairs, hiring events, jobsites, and recruiting initiatives

About the Role

Gregory Construction is seeking a driven, highly self-motivated Recruiting Coordinator to support the growth of our skilled trades and field workforce throughout Texas and the Southwest.

This is a fully remote, Texas-based position designed for someone who knows how to recruit in the trades and is comfortable taking ownership of their territory. You will actively source, screen, recruit, and build relationships with craft and construction candidates while partnering closely with field leadership to keep pace with changing project and manpower needs.

We need someone who can take initiative and run with the role. Recruiting priorities can change quickly, so the right person will be organized, responsive, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple openings and locations without requiring constant direction.

Previous recruiting experience within the skilled trades or a closely aligned field workforce environment is required. Bilingual English/Spanish is strongly preferred.

What You'll Do

  • Source and recruit qualified candidates for hourly craft, skilled trades, equipment, field operations, and other construction-related positions.
  • Conduct initial phone screens to evaluate experience, qualifications, availability, travel expectations, and overall fit.
  • Build and maintain strong candidate pipelines for current and upcoming projects throughout Texas and the Southwest.
  • Proactively source passive candidates through job boards, social media, referrals, networking, community organizations, trade programs, and direct outreach.
  • Partner closely with hiring managers and field leadership to understand manpower needs and changing recruiting priorities.
  • Represent Gregory Construction at career fairs, skilled trades events, workforce development programs, community hiring events, technical schools, and other recruiting events throughout Texas.
  • Identify new recruiting opportunities, workforce partnerships, and sourcing channels throughout the region.
  • Travel regionally as needed to support hiring events, jobsites, recruiting initiatives, and project-specific hiring needs.
  • Review applications and resumes while maintaining timely communication with candidates throughout the hiring process.
  • Coordinate interviews and recruiting activities between candidates, recruiters, hiring managers, and field leadership.
  • Maintain accurate and current candidate records within the applicant tracking system (ATS).
  • Assist with job postings and ensure openings accurately reflect current project and workforce needs.
  • Support pre-employment and onboarding coordination to help create a smooth transition from candidate to new hire.
  • Track recruiting activity and communicate pipeline progress, challenges, and hiring needs to People leadership.

What We're Looking For

  • 2+ years of recruiting experience preferred.
  • Previous recruiting experience within skilled trades or an aligned field workforce environment is required.
  • Experience recruiting within construction, skilled trades, industrial, utilities, electrical, mechanical, oil and gas, manufacturing, or a closely related industry.
  • Experience recruiting hourly field or craft employees strongly preferred.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred.
  • Must reside in Texas and be comfortable traveling throughout the region for recruiting events and business needs.
  • Demonstrated experience actively sourcing candidates rather than relying solely on inbound applications.
  • Comfortable conducting candidate screenings and evaluating experience for field and craft positions.
  • Familiarity with applicant tracking systems, job boards, social media sourcing, and recruiting technology preferred.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Teams.
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Communications, or a related field preferred; relevant recruiting experience may substitute for formal education.

What Will Make You Successful

This is not a role where you'll wait for someone to hand you your next assignment. Because the position is fully remote, we need someone who can recognize what needs attention, manage their time effectively, communicate proactively, and independently move recruiting efforts forward.

You'll be successful here if you

  • See a difficult opening and immediately start thinking about where and how to find the right people.
  • Take initiative to source candidates, build relationships, attend events, and develop new recruiting channels.
  • Communicate proactively with candidates, hiring managers, and field leadership.
  • Follow through and close the loop rather than allowing candidates or hiring needs to fall through the cracks.
  • Can quickly shift priorities without losing organization or momentum.
  • Are comfortable being accountable for your recruiting territory and candidate pipelines.
  • Enjoy working with field employees and understand that skilled trades recruiting requires a relationship-driven, hands-on approach.
  • Bring solutions and new ideas when traditional recruiting methods aren't working.
  • Are persistent and comfortable recruiting for challenging or hard-to-fill positions.
