Reporting to the Transport Operations Supervisor, this role owns the full recruitment cycle for driver positions – from sourcing and screening through offer and onboarding hand-off – and partners closely with operations leadership to keep pace with GT Group's driver staffing needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage full-cycle recruitment for Class 1 driver positions supporting container transport operations, and other transport-operations roles as needed.
  • Source candidates through job boards, driver-specific platforms, employee referrals, driving schools, trucking associations, social media and other channels.
  • Screen resumes and applications, and verify Class 1 licence validity, driving record (abstract) and relevant certifications.
  • Conduct initial phone/video screening interviews to assess qualifications, experience and fit before advancing candidates.
  • Coordinate and schedule interviews with the Transport Operations Supervisor and other stakeholders.
  • Maintain an accurate, up-to-date candidate pipeline and applicant tracking records.
  • Conduct reference checks and coordinate pre-employment requirements (driving abstract, medical certification, and other checks as required by GT Group and applicable regulations).
  • Prepare and extend offers in collaboration with the Transport Operations Supervisor and HR.
  • Coordinate new-hire documentation and hand off to the onboarding process for incoming drivers.
  • Build and maintain relationships with driving schools, trucking associations and industry contacts to develop a steady pipeline of qualified Class 1 drivers.
  • Track and report recruiting metrics (time-to-fill, source effectiveness, offer-acceptance rate) to the Transport Operations Supervisor.
  • Represent GT Group at job fairs, driver-recruitment events and community outreach activities as needed.
  • Perform other related recruiting and administrative duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Proven experience recruiting Class 1 drivers or similar commercial drivers – required.
  • Experience recruiting drivers specifically for container transport – an asset.
  • Experience in full-cycle recruitment, ideally within the transport, logistics or supply chain industry.
  • Familiarity with Quebec Class 1 licensing requirements, driving abstracts and transport-industry compliance standards – an asset.
  • Bilingual (French/English), professional level, written and spoken – required.
  • Strong sourcing skills across job boards, social media and driver-specific recruiting channels.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage a high-volume pipeline and multiple requisitions simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
