Position Summary

The Human Resources Intern will provide support to the Human Resources department during a temporary leave of absence, with a primary focus on talent acquisition, candidate engagement, and onboarding support. This position will gain hands-on experience throughout the recruitment and hiring process while working closely with hiring managers, department leaders, schedulers, and the Human Resources team.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities.
  • Professional, approachable, and comfortable interacting with candidates, employees, supervisors, and community partners.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employment information appropriately.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and willingness to learn HR and applicant tracking systems, including UKG.
  • Ability to successfully pass an employment background check.
  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.

Specific Job Duties

Talent Acquisition

  • Post and monitor open positions on job boards, the CCHS website, social media, and other recruitment platforms.
  • Work with hiring managers, department directors, and schedulers to identify openings, schedules, position requirements, and desired qualifications.
  • Respond to applicants in a timely manner, with a goal of responding within one business day.
  • Review applications and resumes and conduct initial phone screens.
  • Coordinate and schedule candidate interviews with hiring managers.
  • Maintain accurate applicant and recruitment records.
  • Follow up with hiring managers regarding interview feedback and candidate selection.
  • Assist with verbal and written employment offers and communicate hiring decisions to candidates.
  • Maintain regular communication with candidates throughout the recruitment process and assist them with the application and hiring process, including UKG.

Recruitment Outreach

  • Organize and participate in job fairs, career fairs, community events, networking opportunities, and school recruitment events.
  • Assist with presentations and information sessions promoting careers in healthcare and senior living, career advancement opportunities, CCHS culture, and employee benefits.
  • Develop relationships with schools, community organizations, and other recruitment partners to expand CCHS's candidate pool.
  • Work with the Marketing department to develop and promote recruitment materials and job advertisements.

Pre-Employment & Onboarding

  • Assist with reference checks, credential verification, background checks, and other pre-employment requirements.
  • Track completion of required pre-employment documentation.
  • Coordinate new hire paperwork, orientation, and required training with HR, supervisors, and schedulers.
  • Provide campus tours to candidates and new employees as appropriate.
  • Support new employees during their first 90 days and assist with 30-, 60-, and 90-day check-ins as directed by HR.

HR Department Support

  • Meet regularly with the HR Director and/or HR team to review recruitment activity, staffing needs, metrics, and priorities.
  • Maintain recruitment reports, spreadsheets, and other HR documentation.
  • Provide feedback and identify opportunities to improve the recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and employee experience.
  • Assist with HR projects, employee communications, administrative duties, and other department needs as assigned.
  • Provide backup support to other areas of the HR department as needed and take on additional responsibilities during periods of increased workload or changing department priorities.

Compliance

  • Maintain confidentiality of applicant and employee information.
  • Follow CCHS policies, procedures, and applicable EEO and employment laws and regulations.

Seek guidance from the HR Director or appropriate HR team member regarding sensitive or complex employment matters.

Pay: $27.00-$36.00 per hour depending on years of experience.
