As a Recruiter, you’ll play an essential role in building a talented, mission-driven workforce. From the first candidate interaction through onboarding, you’ll create a welcoming, professional, and candidate-centered experience while helping hiring managers find the people they need to make a difference.

You’ll serve as an ambassador for the agency—sharing our mission and values, building relationships throughout the community, and connecting talented individuals with opportunities where their skills and passion can have an impact.

What You’ll Do

Lead the Full Recruitment Journey

  • Manage and coordinate the full-cycle recruitment process, from initial application and sourcing through selection and onboarding.
  • Develop creative and proactive strategies to attract qualified candidates across a variety of roles and programs.
  • Source candidates through recruiting platforms, social media, professional networks, community connections, and advanced internet sourcing techniques.
  • Screen, interview, and assess candidates through phone conversations.
  • Identify qualified candidates and make recommendations for next steps based on established hiring criteria.
  • Keep candidates informed and engaged throughout the process, creating a positive and professional experience.

Partner With Hiring Managers

  • Build strong, collaborative relationships with hiring managers and internal stakeholders.
  • Learn the staffing needs of assigned programs and help develop effective recruitment strategies.
  • Provide guidance on recruitment best practices and support hiring managers in making informed hiring decisions.
  • Serve as a trusted resource for questions related to recruitment policies, procedures, and processes.

Build Our Talent Pipeline

  • Think beyond the traditional job posting by identifying new ways to reach and engage potential candidates.
  • Represent the agency at career fairs, networking events, classroom presentations, community events, and other outreach opportunities.
  • Build relationships with schools, professional networks, community organizations, referral sources, and other talent partners.
  • Promote the agency’s mission, values, culture, and career opportunities to prospective employees.

Ensure a Smooth, Compliant Process

  • Maintain accurate and timely candidate records in the electronic Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
  • Monitor recruitment activity and ensure appropriate documentation and communication throughout the hiring process.
  • Follow all applicable employment laws, regulations, agency policies, and recruitment procedures.
  • Interpret and communicate HR and recruitment policies clearly and professionally to candidates and staff.
  • Handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion, professionalism, and care.

Use Data to Improve Recruitment

  • Monitor recruitment metrics and analyze trends to understand what’s working and where opportunities exist.
  • Identify recruitment challenges, recommend solutions, and implement adjustments to improve results.
  • Help continuously improve the candidate and hiring-manager experience.

Be an Agency Ambassador

  • Represent the agency with professionalism and enthusiasm when interacting with candidates, community partners, funders, referral sources, executive leadership, and the Board of Trustees.
  • Participate in agency and program events as needed, including occasional evenings and weekends.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

  • Strong computer skills and comfort using technology and data systems to manage recruitment activities and communication.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • A customer-service mindset and the ability to build positive relationships with candidates and internal partners.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Working knowledge of fundamental human resources principles and recruitment best practices.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to learn and apply specialized recruitment practices, including recruitment within areas such as behavioral health, corrections, housing, or other specialized programs as applicable.
  • Ability to handle sensitive inquiries and confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Professional presence and the ability to communicate effectively with funders, referral sources, executive leadership, and the Board of Trustees.
  • Flexibility to participate in recruitment and community events outside of regular business hours, including occasional evenings and weekends.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • One (1) or more years of experience in Human Resources, recruiting, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong computer skills and the ability to quickly learn new software and systems.
  • Valid driver’s license and current automobile insurance.

This position combines office-based recruitment activities with community outreach and occasional travel.

  • Mobility: Driving as required by job duties; occasional standing and walking; constant sitting.
  • Movement: Rare climbing or crawling; infrequent balancing, stooping, kneeling, or crouching; frequent to constant reaching and handling.
  • Sensory: Rare tasting or smelling; infrequent use of color vision; occasional use of far visual acuity, depth perception, and field of vision; frequent use of near- and mid-range visual acuity and visual accommodation; frequent to constant verbal communication.
