Role: Recruiter
Location: San Diego, CA (in-office)
Salary Range: $80,000 - $100,000 /yr + stock options, 401k matching, and other benefits
Role Overview
Seasats has grown from 50 to over 100 people in under a year, and we're not slowing down anytime soon – we're accelerating hiring across engineering, manufacturing, and operations. To keep up, we're hiring a Recruiter to own hiring across these teams – sourcing, screening, interviewing, and closing great candidates faster and more consistently.
You'll take over a hiring process with a foundation already in place, including candidate comms, interview structure, and screening steps, with plenty of room to make it better as we scale. Your job is to own it: partnering with hiring managers on what each role needs, sourcing and screening candidates, running Round 1 interviews, closing offers, and sharpening our screening to cut to what matters. How well you execute it directly shapes the kind of company Seasats becomes.
Role Details
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to
- Own full-cycle recruiting, including sourcing, screening, scheduling, and running Round 1 interviews, for open roles spanning mechanical, electrical, and software engineering, manufacturing, fleet operations, and beyond
- Build active sourcing pipelines for our hardest-to-fill roles, using the right channel(s) for each
- Partner with hiring managers to scope new roles, define must-haves, and set realistic candidate profiles before interviewing starts
- Understanding company goals and departmental needs and prioritizing roles accordingly
- Manage candidate experience and communication throughout the funnel, from first outreach through offer
- Track and report on pipeline health, including time-to-fill, sourcing channel performance, and funnel conversion, so we know where to adjust
- Continuously improve our hiring process as volume grows, including evaluating tools (we're currently on Breezy and have identified gaps worth solving)
About You
You're comfortable owning a wide, varied req load and switching contexts across very different roles and candidate pools without losing momentum. You have:
- 2-3+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience in a recruiter role, owning reqs from intake through accepted offer, ideally at a high-growth startup
- Experience sourcing and closing technical or specialized talent, in addition to managing inbound pipelines (a sourcing background is a strong plus)
- Strong interviewing instincts and the judgment to assess technical and Seasats fit quickly
- Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple active reqs across different functions at once
- Comfort partnering with hiring managers to define what a role actually needs, not just what's written in a job description
- A scrappy, get-after-it mindset that thrives on new and varied hiring challenges
About Seasats
At Seasats, we're passionate about delivering maritime robotics solutions to redefine the maritime industry. Our primary products are unmanned surface vessels (USVs), designed to carry sensors at sea for months at a time. Our USVs provide persistent monitoring and data acquisition to defense, scientific, and commercial customers, and have autonomously crossed both the Pacific and Atlantic oceans. After thousands of years in which the only way to gather information from the ocean was to put people on a boat, these uncrewed vessels are transforming how humanity monitors and interacts with the ocean. Here, you'll find the space and opportunity to do your life's best work.
Along with your salary, you'll receive perks including
- Stock options
- Competitive insurance (including a 99% employer-covered Gold HMO plan or other options)
- 401k matching up to 4% of salary
- Four free lunches per week
- An employee activity fund
- A pet-friendly office
- Unlimited/Flex PTO
