Position Summary

Promote the college in order to increase student enrollment; coordinate recruitment activities with area high schools; provide informational materials and services to prospective students, counselors, and the community at large. Provide advisement during registration, enrollment periods, and throughout the year. Must adhere to a flexible work schedule and perform other job-related duties as directed by the President, Dean of Student Affairs, and Student Affairs Program Director

Salary: Appropriate placement on the Alabama Community College System Salary Schedule E3: (Salary range: $41,349 - $66,218)

Benefits: Full-time employees are entitled to the College’s benefit package to include: PEEHIP, retirement, leave (annual, sick, and personal), etc.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Promote the college to increase enrollment.
  • Make contact with area principals, counselors, and teachers.
  • Attend or help to make sure career programs are attended in our area.
  • Accommodate tour groups on campus.
  • Assist the the Dean of Student Affairs and the Student Affairs Program Director in coordinating collateral recruiting responsibilities on other campuses.
  • Visit all schools in the service area.
  • Assure prospective students receive college publications when requested.
  • Responsible for calling/writing to prospective students and students who do not return, retention-based activities.
  • Attend scholarship committee meetings to assist with the awarding of scholarships.
  • Assist with advising and career development services to new students, particularly during the enrollment and registration periods.
  • Develop and/or assist the Dean of Student Affairs and the Student Affairs Program Director with creating and approving promotional brochures, posters, folders, calendars, and other recruitment materials.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate’s degree from an accredited university/college is required.
  • Experience in recruiting or sales is required.
  • Excellent public speaking, interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel for recruitment purposes
