Overview
The Talent Acquisition Team at HarperCollins Publishers leads recruitment across North America, developing thoughtful, innovative strategies to attract, engage, and hire exceptional talent. As HarperCollins Christian Publishing (HCCP) continues to grow, we are seeking a dedicated Recruiter to serve as a strategic talent partner to the business. With a primary focus on HCCP and the flexibility to support HarperCollins Publishers as business needs evolve, this role will lead full-cycle recruiting, early career programs, stakeholder partnerships, and the review and enhancement of talent acquisition strategies and processes that support long-term business growth.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary talent acquisition partner for HarperCollins Christian Publishing while flexing to support HarperCollins Publishers based on hiring volume and business priorities.
- Partner with the Senior Director of Talent to evaluate HCCP’s hiring processes and thoughtfully integrate best practices from HarperCollins Publishers, ensuring a consistent, efficient, and strategically aligned talent acquisition approach across North America.
- Proactively identify talent needs and opportunities, develop targeted recruitment strategies, and execute programs and initiatives that strengthen talent pipelines and support evolving business priorities.
Experienced Recruitment
- Manage full-cycle recruitment ranging from entry-level to senior-level roles, including sourcing, resume review, phone screens, interview and offer management, and candidate closing.
- Provide an exceptional candidate experience throughout the recruitment process, from initial contact to onboarding.
- Partner closely with hiring managers to understand business and talent needs, develop role-specific sourcing and recruitment strategies, and provide clear, data-informed guidance throughout the hiring process.
- Build trusted relationships with hiring managers, People partners, candidates, and cross-functional stakeholders to drive alignment, accountability, and successful recruitment outcomes.
Early Career Recruitment
- Manage internship program planning and execution in partnership with the Campus Recruitment Lead, including the group placement process, orientation, professional development, networking events, and mentoring opportunities that support intern learning and growth.
- Monitor intern performance and collect feedback to evaluate the effectiveness of each internship program and make recommendations for improvement.
- Maintain connectivity with former interns and create pipelining strategies for entry-level opportunities.
- Build relationships with local university career centers, student organizations, and diversity organizations.
Data Management and Reporting
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date candidate records in our applicant tracking system (ATS), ICIMS.
- Develop and analyze recruitment reports and metrics to evaluate sourcing effectiveness, pipeline health, process efficiency, and hiring outcomes; translate insights into recommendations and action.
Qualifications
- 5–8 years of experience in experienced-hire recruiting, including ownership of full-cycle searches.
- Experience with campus recruitment and internship programs is a plus.
- Experience recruiting for technology roles is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and applicant tracking systems (ATS); preferably ICIMS.
- Excellent communication, consultative relationship-building, and interpersonal skills, with exceptional attention to detail and follow-through.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills, with the ability to translate data and business needs into practical recruitment strategies.
- Proactive, solutions-oriented, and strategically minded, with demonstrated success evaluating processes, improving efficiency, and implementing change in partnership with stakeholders.
