SUMMARY
The Recruiter works closely with all departments to determine hiring needs and help develop staffing strategies to attract a diverse pool of qualified and capable talent for the organization.
BASIC FUNCTIONS AND GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate with program leadership to determine job vacancies – maintain staffing spreadsheet.
- Source applicants through databases, online forums, social media, etc.
- Schedules interviews; oversees preparation of interview questions and other hiring and selection materials.
- Ensure all required employment screening are processed according to agency policy.
- Attend and host job fairs to recruit qualified talent.
- Establish and maintain regular contact, with local colleges, universities and high schools to promote career opportunities in I/DD field.
- Asses applicants’ knowledge, skills, and experience to best suit open positions. Ensure personnel files are set up according to agency and regulatory guidelines.
- Enter new hire information into agency database.
- Ensure new hire documents and onboarding is completed
- The ability to effectively and efficiently use computers or mobile devices to input, access, modify, or output information. This includes the ability to quickly access, store and retrieve data.
- Stay up to date on current employment legislation and regulations.
- All Other Duties as Assigned
Physical Expectations
This position requires extended periods of sitting with some periods of walking and standing. It may also require bending, kneeling, and/or stooping and climbing stairs. An individual in this position may need to drive a vehicle to resources in the community. There may be extended periods of using a computer and/or calculator.
Working Conditions
Office/home environment with noises from office equipment, telephones, etc. May be exposed to bloodborne pathogens and/or infectious diseases.
QUALIFICATIONS
- One to two (1-2) years of recruiting experience preferred.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field preferred
- Highly developed communication skills and the ability to effectively interact with a wide variety of stakeholders.
- Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn applicant tracking software or other recruitment systems.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups.
- Working knowledge of employment law and legislation.
- Current driver’s license with acceptable driving record and access to reliable transportation to conduct visits to multiple sites plus attend community meetings.
- Ability to manage time effectively and maximize efficiency.
- Must Receive Seasonal Flu Vaccination
