POSITION OVERVIEW: Recruiter
The Recruiter reports to the HR Manager and supports Florida Canyon Mining, Inc. by delivering full-cycle recruiting for approved hourly and salaried vacancies, including skilled mining trades and technical roles. This role manages workforce pipeline development, sourcing, screening, candidate communication, offer preparation, applicant tracking, and recruiting reporting. The Recruiter owns coordination of interview scheduling and position overviews and partners with hiring managers and the HR team to fill vacancies in compliance with MSHA, federal, and Nevada requirements and to provide a consistent candidate experience and a complete handoff to onboarding.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The key responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
- Comply with MSHA, State and Federal legal regulations, Integra Resources and Florida Canyon Mine’s Safety and Environmental policies and procedures.
- Coordinate requisition preparation and obtain required approvals before recruiting; confirm position requirements and priorities with HR leadership and hiring managers; partner with department leaders on workforce planning.
- Create job postings from approved job descriptions and source candidates through job boards, direct outreach, professional networks, community partnerships, and career fairs; build talent pipelines for hard-to-fill mining trades and technical roles through schools, industry associations, veterans’ programs, and local and tribal community organizations.
- Post internal opportunities, support internal transfers and promotions, and promote the Florida Canyon Mine employer brand.
- Recruit for hourly and salaried positions, review applications, screen candidates, coordinate skills assessments and operator or trade evaluations where required, and present qualified applicants for hiring-manager consideration.
- Maintain timely candidate communication throughout screening, interviews, selection, and the offer process, and provide realistic job previews of the mine’s location, commute, shift schedules, and working conditions.
- Own interview scheduling and coordinate the HR Coordinator’s support, panel availability, candidate instructions, and interview materials; support structured, job-related interview guides.
- Own the workflow for creating and updating position overviews, coordinating preparation with the HR Coordinator and input from hiring managers and HR leadership.
- Develop compensation recommendations with the Senior HR Business Partner and route recommendations to the HR Manager for approval.
- Prepare offer letters, obtain required approvals before issuance, provide wage or salary range information as required by Nevada law, communicate approved terms, and escalate requested changes to HR leadership.
- Coordinate pre-employment clearances with the HR Coordinator, including drug and alcohol screening, background and reference checks, and fit-for-duty requirements, in compliance with FCRA and Nevada requirements.
- Maintain accurate applicant tracking records, retain applicant records in accordance with record-retention requirements, and complete assigned new-hire HRIS entries in coordination with the HR Coordinator.
- Report recruiting metrics, vacancy status, pipeline activity, time to fill, offer acceptance, quality of hire, and 90-day retention; identify bottlenecks and recommend improvements.
- Conduct or coordinate 30/60/90-day new-hire check-ins and use new-hire feedback and exit-interview data to improve recruiting and retention.
- Manage staffing agency and recruiting vendor relationships; consult on temporary staffing needs, onboarding materials, and candidate-facing events as requested.
- Protect confidential information, maintain recruiting records, and apply consistent, job-related, non-discriminatory screening and selection practices in compliance with EEO requirements.
- Demonstrate leadership in Health, Safety and Environment through personal behaviors and conversations; promote a respectful and healthy work environment.
- Participate in site safety initiatives, follow company policies and procedures, and comply with site access and personal protective equipment requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, or a related field, preferred.
- Two or more years of recruiting or talent acquisition experience required; an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be considered.
- Experience recruiting hourly and salaried employees in mining, manufacturing, logistics, or another industrial environment, preferred.
- Valid Nevada driver’s license required.
- SHRM, HRCI, or recruiting-related professional certification preferred.
- Working knowledge of sourcing, screening, interview coordination, offer preparation, and recruiting records management, required.
- Familiarity with job-related selection practices, equal employment opportunity principles, confidentiality, and applicant data protection, required.
- Proficiency with applicant tracking systems, HR information systems, Microsoft Office, and recruiting platforms; Paycor experience preferred.
- Understanding of industrial or mine-site staffing needs, shift schedules, site location considerations, and recruiting handoffs to pre-employment and onboarding teams, preferred
- Working knowledge of MSHA Part 48 training requirements, pre-employment screening and background check (FCRA) practices, and Nevada employment requirements affecting hiring. preferred.
- Strong candidate relationship building, written and verbal communication, and hiring-manager partnership skills, required.
- Ability to organize competing priorities, follow through on commitments, meet deadlines, and maintain accurate records, required.
- Sound judgment, confidentiality, attention to detail, and ability to use recruiting data to improve processes, required.
- Ability to work a Monday–Thursday 4x10 schedule with occasional early morning, evening, or weekend flexibility; travel to recruiting events; lift up to 25 pounds; and wear required PPE during mine-site visits. Required
