Starcon, a Cianbro company, is seeking a Craft Recruiter/ HR Coordinator to join our team based in New Lenox, IL. The successful candidate will have a solid background recruiting
craft employees for the local area (preferably in the industrial and manufacturing sector) and will be the primary point of contact for Human Resources activity in the region. They will stablish and maintain professional networking relationships and outreach efforts with organizations such as colleges, high schools, and trade schools to develop a pipeline of people wanting to work in the industry, and maintain an active roster of qualified craft individuals for staffing projects.
This role will also serve as the Human Resources point of contact for the region. In this role you will visit local worksites to present HR-related information such as benefits overviews, open enrollment awareness, and other HR efforts to current team members. This will also include involvement in Employee Relations by being a resource for those team members to ask questions or report complaints. This role reports directly to Starcon's Director of Human Resources.

Job Description
PrimaryFunction
Responsible for successfully recruiting qualified craft personnel, maintaining ongoing communication with our project supervision to understand upcoming staffing needs and requirements, and support the project team in reviewing wages and other conditions to ensure that we are competitive in the market.
Establish and maintain professional networking relationships and outreach efforts with resources such as colleges, high schools, and trade schools.
Will be responsible for maintaining an active roster of qualified craft individuals for staffing projects.
Serve as the Human Resources point of contact for the region - visit local worksites to present HR-related information and be a resource for current employees to ask questions or report complaints
Work Environment
Work environment will be most of time in our local office with occasional job site visits where proper attire and PPE will be required for a variety of hazards.
Roles& Responsibilities
The roles and responsibilities of this position may include, but are not limited to the following:

- Insure proper screening of candidates by using a combination of data on record, craft assessments and other assessments, interview and review of the application/resume, references and others.
- Provide guidance to project team and/or managers to ensure nondiscriminatory hiring practices
- Keep ongoing networking to ensure we understand the market, the team members’ feedback, and the project needs, to ensure we have the right resources, delivered timely with terms that ensure that we are attracting the best while ensuring Starcon competitiveness.
- Responsible for traveling to active and potential job sites to establish and/or maintain relationships with client personnel and Starcon Project Managers, Supervisors, and team members.
- Foster rehiring qualified team members to maximize our return on investment and built a more stable bench of candidates.
- Deliver accurate HR-related information to current workforce.
Qualification Guidelines
Experience
Preferably 5+ years of experience in recruiting crafts in the heavy industrial sector.
Skills
- A broad range of human resources and recruiting knowledge within the construction industry
- Ability to work in a high volume and fast-paced environment.
- Must be a highly motivated and self-starting individual.
- Solid working knowledge of both state and federal labor law and regulations.
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability and willingness to travel when required at times with minimal notice.
- Good organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
- Ability to work as a team across the multi-functional teams involved to make a project successful between for example – Operations, Cost, Safety, coordination with other HR teams, corporate HR, etc.
Education/Requirements
- College degree in HR or a business-related field preferred or equivalent recruiting/HR experience in construction/ industrial setting.
- Knowledge of applicable labor law and regulations and fair labor standards
- Must have valid driver’s license.
- Excellent computer skills, including experience working with Applicant tracking and HRIS software, and proficient with Microsoft suite - Word, Excel and Outlook
Physical Requirements
- Must comply with Starcon’s drug andalcohol policy.
Safety/Environmental
- Must be able to pass Starcon and client safetytraining requirement to access the job sites responsible for.
- Ability to wear the required PPE.
