About the Role

At Southport, the Recruiter plays a critical role in helping us build the team that drives our success. This position is responsible for attracting, engaging, and hiring skilled candidates across the organization, from technicians to office and leadership roles. This is a relationship-first role. Recruiting is more than filling open positions. It’s about creating great candidate experiences, building trust, and serving as an ambassador for Southport. The right person enjoys connecting with people and identifying talent.

What You'll Do

  • Manage full-cycle recruiting efforts from job postings through offer acceptance
  • Maintain regular communication with candidates from offer acceptance through onboarding to ensure a positive experience and a seamless transition into the organization
  • Source, screen, and evaluate candidates across multiple channels, including online job boards, referrals, and recruiting events
  • Conduct phone interviews and coordinate hiring manager interviews
  • Build strong relationships with hiring managers to understand workforce needs and hiring priorities
  • Create engaging job postings that accurately reflect Southport’s culture and opportunities
  • Develop and maintain a pipeline of qualified candidates for current and future openings
  • Attend and represent Southport at career fairs, recruiting events, trade shows, high school career days, technical college events, and other workforce development initiatives
  • Track recruiting metrics and identifying opportunities to improve hiring efficiency and effectiveness
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local high schools, technical colleges, and other organizations
  • All other duties assigned to this role

  • Bachelor’s or associate degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 1+ year recruiting
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage candidates of all levels
  • Organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple openings simultaneously
  • Self-motivated and proactive, with strong follow-through and accountability
  • Comfortable presenting to students, educators, community partners, and candidates in both individual and group settings
  • Willingness and ability to travel regularly to all Southport locations, career fairs, and high school events
  • Valid Driver’s License and insurable driving record
