About Fresh Prep

Fresh Prep is Canada's largest Canadian-owned meal kit company and a certified B Corporation. We employ more than 600 people across production facilities in British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario and Quebec, and we deliver fresh, pre-portioned meals to households across the country. Our Saint-Laurent facility is the hub of our Quebec operation and is growing.

Why this role exists

Production is the engine of our business, and the engine only runs if the line is staffed. Over the next four months we need to hire a significant volume of Production Associates.
You will own the funnel end to end: sourcing, screening, scheduling, offers, and the onboarding handoff. You will also carry a lighter HR coordination load for the Quebec site to keep the employee lifecycle moving.

What you'll do

High-volume recruitment (roughly 70% of the role)

  • Own the full-cycle hiring process for Production Associates and other hourly production roles at Saint-Laurent, and support hourly hiring at our BC, Alberta and Ontario sites.
  • Build and maintain a live pipeline sized to weekly production headcount targets set with Operations.
  • Source through the channels that actually work for hourly hiring in Montreal: job boards, community and newcomer settlement organizations, local employment centres, social and community groups, referral programs, and direct outreach.
  • Run high-throughput screening β€” phone screens, group interviews, and on-site open hiring days β€” with fast turnaround between application and offer.
  • Manage temporary staffing agency relationships where agency labour is used, including requisitions, fill rates and conversion to permanent.
  • Prepare and issue offer letters and coordinate pre-employment steps.
  • Keep the ATS clean and current, and report weekly on time-to-fill, offer acceptance, interview show rate, first-day show rate and 30-day retention.

HR coordination (roughly 30% of the role)

  • Coordinate onboarding logistics for new production hires: paperwork, payroll and system setup, PPE, access, uniform, and scheduling of required food safety and health & safety training.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and support HRIS data integrity for the Quebec site.
  • Support day-to-day employee lifecycle administration β€” status changes, employment verification letters, leave paperwork, offboarding.
  • Act as a bilingual first point of contact for production employees on routine HR questions, escalating anything substantive to the People & Culture team.
  • Support People & Culture initiatives at the site as needed, including translation and distribution of employee communications.

What we're looking for

Required

  • Demonstrated high-volume recruitment experience. You have personally hired at volume β€” think dozens of hourly hires in a quarter β€” in manufacturing, food production, warehousing, logistics, retail or QSR.
  • 2+ years in recruitment, with at least one year focused on hourly or frontline roles.
  • Hands-on ATS experience and comfort working from a metrics dashboard.
  • Strong organization under pressure: you can run twenty open requisitions, three sites and a hiring event in the same week without dropping candidates.
  • Based in Montreal and able to be on-site at Saint-Laurent regularly.

Nice to have

  • HR coordination or HR generalist experience alongside recruitment.
  • Familiarity with Quebec employment standards and CNESST requirements.
  • Experience recruiting from newcomer, student or seasonal labour pools.
  • Experience supporting a rapid site ramp-up or a new facility launch.

What success looks like

  • First 14 days: you know our roles, shifts and hiring managers; the pipeline is mapped; sourcing channels are live; weekly reporting is running.
  • By 30 days: open production roles are filled to Operations' weekly targets, and time-to-fill is trending down.
  • By December 31: headcount targets are met, onboarding is documented and repeatable, and a clean handover package sits with the People & Culture team.

What we offer

  • A defined, high-impact contract with a clear mandate and real ownership.
  • Competitive contract compensation (range to be confirmed based on experience).
  • The chance to build something durable at a B Corp that is growing in Quebec.

Note: strong performers in fixed-term roles are considered for future openings, but this contract carries no guarantee of extension or of permanent employment.
