The Operations Recruiter encompasses provides functional services in support of all Operations Recruiting efforts. The Operations Recruiter carries out duties and responsibilities in the following functional areas:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Recruiting

  • Obtain/generate candidates from all available resources.
  • Schedule and conduct initial interviews following the Uniform Guidelines on Employee Selection and in accordance with the company’s Affirmative Action Plan.
  • Recruits, tests, checks references, and screens applicants based on Employee Requisitions
  • Implements programs, policies, and procedures for recruitment, testing, selection, and job placement.
  • Partner with Hiring Managers on selection process. Advise on interviewing techniques, resources and process tools.
  • Develops sources of qualified applicants, screens applicants, schedules and conducts interviews, administers tests, checks references and background checks.
  • Act as liaison with area employment agencies, military bases, VFW’s, and temporary agencies.
  • Manage advertisements via social media, job boards, and advertising agencies.
  • Processes employment verifications and manage the employee referral program.
  • Coordinate, manage and attend job fairs and conduct open houses.

College/Intern Recruiting

  • Develop professional college recruiting relationships with local colleges by attending job fairs.
  • Develop & maintain Intern Program by utilizing college counselors and job boards.

Administrative

  • Ensures all job descriptions are up to date as positions are filled. Creates new job descriptions as requested, and maintains a job description database.
  • Maintains the applicant tracking system, ADP Workforce Now, including entering data for applicants and listing applicant’s final status.
  • Processes and analyzes statistical reports to monitor applicant flow, selection, and turnover.
  • Manages the temporary employee, J1, and H2B programs (Summer Hires).
  • Completion of new hire actions in IMIS.
  • Update monthly HR Reports: Head Count Report, Turnover, and HR Recruitment Goals by the 5th of each month.
  • Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM EXPECTATIONS/STANDARDS OF PRODUCTIVITY

All requisitions for positions will be responded to within 24 hours. During contact with the hiring manager, method of search will be discussed, timeline for filling the position, and the manager’s level of desired involvement in the screening process.

Pre-hire paperwork and screening will be processed in a timely manner within 48 hours of a verbal acceptance.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum requirement in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint is that of intermediate to advance. Minimum keyboard skill is 40 wpm.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and written, multi-task, and prioritize as needed.
  • Must be accurate and detail-oriented.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma and 1+ years of experience in blue collar recruitment. Professional in Human Resources (PHR) Certification or SHRM-CP Certification preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to speak, read, write, and comprehend documents written in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions; ability to prioritize tasks; and the ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
