Haynes Boone is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Lateral Recruiting Assistant to support the firm's lateral attorney recruiting efforts in the New York office. This position plays a key role in managing candidate data, interview logistics, recruiting systems, onboard activities and candidate communications. The Lateral Recruiting Assistant helps ensure an exceptional candidate experience and seamless recruiting process from initial application through successful integration into the firm.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain candidate records and application statuses in VI-Desktop, Flo Recruit and Workday.
- Prepare lateral candidate packets and manage recruiting documentation, including fee agreements and search firm onboarding.
- Post attorney openings and maintain recruiting system data.
- Coordinate interview logistics, including scheduling, conference room reservations, candidate travel, meals, security access, and AV/Zoom setup.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for candidates during office visits, including greeting candidates, reviewing schedules, and facilitating a seamless interview experience.
- Distribute interview materials and evaluation forms and track completion.
- Manage background check, conflicts clearance, and onboarding processes for lateral hires.
- Coordinate new hire integration communications with Section Chairs, Hiring Partners, DAPs, and other stakeholders.
- Provide coverage for recruiting coordination functions and lead recruiting operations in the absence of the Recruiting Coordinator.
- Assist with recruiting projects and administrative initiatives as needed.
Reporting Relationship: The Lateral Recruiting Assistant reports directly to the Manager of Lateral Recruiting.
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- 1-3 years of recruiting, HR, legal recruiting, or administrative experience preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook; Vi Desktop & Flo Recruit a plus but not required.
- Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and attention to detail.
Physical Demands
Must be able to move around the office up to 15% of the time to make copies, fax, file, etc. Remains stationary at least 85% of the time. When coordinating/attending special events, might be required to move around up to 100% of the time. This position operates computers and other office productivity machines (e.g., fax machine, copier, printer, etc.) on a regular basis. Occasionally required to move documents or files weighing up to 15 lbs. This position requires constant communication and exchange of information with the Firm attorneys, clients and staff. This position must be able to inspect and observe information on a computer screen at least 80% of the time.

Hybrid office environment on a 4:1 in-office schedule
Salary Range
The expected salary range for this position is $65,000.00-$70,000.00. Please note that the final offer amount may vary based on experience and skillset of the selected candidate.
