UNIVERSAL Technologies is seeking an IT Recruiter for a remote contract role supporting openings across New York City and New York State. Active LinkedIn profiles preferred. The right candidate will source, screen, and present contract IT consultants for hard-to-fill seats, from first outreach through a clean submittal.

UNIVERSAL Technologies is a certified Women-Owned Business Enterprise (M/WBE) IT consulting firm specializing in staffing and technology solutions for government and commercial clients. For more than 20 years we have placed IT consultants with New York City and New York State agencies.
WHAT WE OFFER
This is an independent contractor role. You set your own schedule and methods. Compensation is placement-based, paid when a candidate you source is placed and begins work, with a monthly amount to cover recruiting tools such as LinkedIn and job boards. Strong, consistent results may open the door to a longer-term role with the firm.
MANDATORY SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
- Proven IT recruiting experience, with a track record of filling contract or consulting seats.
- Comfort screening technical roles, including .NET, Java, databases, Salesforce, systems administration, and related skills.
- Working knowledge of public-sector or enterprise hiring, and of what makes a consultant a fit for a government seat.
- Clear written screening notes based on the resume and the conversation, not a rewrite of the job description.
- Reliable follow-through. You set your own hours, and you still close the loop.
- Active LinkedIn profile preferred.
SCOPE OF SERVICES
- Source, screen, and present qualified IT consultants for assigned openings.
- Build a pipeline of contract and consulting talent across development, data, infrastructure, and support roles.
- Screen for recent, relevant experience, contract interest, and the ability to work hybrid in New York City when a seat requires it.
- Write clear candidate summaries and keep records in our systems so another recruiter can pick up the file.
- Protect client names, rates, and candidate information. Client contact happens only when UNIVERSAL authorizes it.
