PRIMARY FUNCTION

The Human Resources Manager, Employee Engagement and Recruiting leads recruiting strategy and employee engagement efforts that attract, engage, and retain mission-aligned talent while supporting a consistent and positive employee experience across Mentoring Alliance. In partnership with the Sr. Director, HR and Recruiting, this role collaborates with hiring managers, HR team members, and organizational leaders to strengthen recruiting, onboarding, employee engagement, performance, development, retention, and culture.

KEY RESULT AREAS

1. Minister of the Gospel

The Human Resources Manager, Employee Engagement and Recruiting is first and foremost considered a Minister of the Gospel and supports Mentoring Alliance’s religious mission by living as an example of Christ, demonstrating conduct above reproach, and serving employees, candidates, leaders, and ministry partners in a biblically consistent manner. This role communicates and supports the organization’s Christian beliefs, mission, and values while contributing to a grace-based, Christ-centered, excellence-driven, and multiethnic culture.

2. Recruiting Strategy, Offer Process, and Onboarding

In partnership with the Sr. Director, Human Resources, lead recruiting strategy and execution in alignment with organizational and regional full-time staffing needs. Partner with Hiring Managers and the Staffing Coordinator to support an efficient and consistent recruiting process. Own the offer process and onboarding experience by coordinating with HR Operations, Hiring Managers, and the Staffing Coordinator. Enhance the candidate and new employee experience through clear communication, timely follow-up, and consistent practices.

3. Employee Engagement, Retention, Performance, and Development

Drive employee engagement, retention, and culture initiatives that strengthen employees’ connection to Mentoring Alliance’s mission and values. Use employee feedback and engagement data to identify needs and improve talent and engagement strategies. Provide employee support in partnership with the Sr. Director, HR and Recruiting, support performance management processes, and equip managers to address performance expectations consistently. Coordinate training and development efforts that build manager and employee capability, and partner with MA leaders to determine compensation decisions for direct reports and the overall team in alignment with compensation strategy.

4. HR Partnership and Continuous Improvement

Consult on HR strategy, policies, compliance, HR systems, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives within the scope of the role. Collaborate with the Manager, HR Operations and organizational leaders to maintain aligned, practical, and employee-centered HR practices. Serve on appropriate committees and attend meetings and board meetings as requested. Strengthen teamwork, collaboration, alignment, morale, transparency, credibility, and trust throughout the ministry, and fulfill other necessary tasks, projects, or roles as assigned by the Sr. Director, HR and Recruiting.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or certification in Human Resources highly preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in Human Resources required
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • 2+ years of high-level administrative work required
  • Proven attention and proclivity to detail and compliance required
  • Proven ability to adapt to changing priorities and organizational pace
  • Reliable transportation required; some local travel is required
