Human Resources Assistant/Recruiter

Tuccaro Inc. is currently seeking a highly organized, professional, and team-oriented HR Assistant/Recruiter to join our Human Resources department.

Reporting to the Human Resources Coordinator, the HR Assistant/Recruiter will provide administrative and recruitment support to the HR department while assisting with various HR functions across the Tuccaro Group of Companies. The successful candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, handling confidential information, and managing multiple priorities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process separation of employment paperwork, ensuring accuracy and correcting any discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee files, both physical and within Simply Safety (HRIS), including address, contact information, and other employee changes.
  • Process wage changes and ensure the appropriate departments receive all required documentation.
  • Assist with job postings, resume screening, candidate follow-ups, interviews, and recruitment activities.
  • Coordinate and assist with company events, including Client Appreciation and Employee Appreciation events.
  • Provide general administration and support for the company Health and Dental Benefits Plan.
  • Assist with the administration and management of short-term and long-term disability cases.
  • Coordinate the onboarding process for new employees, including new hire orientations, pre-employment drug testing, and additional training as required.
  • Provide general administrative support to the Human Resources department and assist with other HR-related duties as required.
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism when handling employee information.

  • The ability to confidently speak in front of and facilitate training sessions of up to 15 participants.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • A professional, ethical, and confidential approach to handling sensitive employee information.
  • The ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving and administrative skills.

Required Education & Knowledge

  • Completion of a post-secondary certificate, diploma, or degree in Human Resources or a related field. Preference will be given to candidates with a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree.
  • Working knowledge of Alberta Employment Standards, Human Rights legislation, and Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) legislation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with a high degree of proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Required Experience

  • 1–3 years of experience in an administrative role with a focus on Human Resources.
  • Familiarity with the oil and gas industry and related support services is considered an asset.
