The Human Resources Generalist – Talent Acquisition manages full-cycle recruiting for the Indiana fulfillment centers, including union hourly, non-union non-exempt, and exempt positions from trainers through directors. The role supports a workforce of up to 350 union hourly associates and approximately 60 non-union exempt and non-exempt associates. Working with site HR and Operations, and directing administrative tasks delegated to Wipro, this individual delivers New Hire Class (NCI) orientations, provides responsive associate support, and coordinates engagement activities. This is an individual contributor position with no direct reports.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Recruiting and Candidate Management

  • Manage approved job postings and candidate activity in Indeed and ADP Workforce Now; maintain accurate opening details, applicant status, and timely candidate communications.
  • Manage LinkedIn recruiting content and social posts using approved messaging; recommend sourcing improvements and monitor recruiting channel results and approved spending.
  • Lead full-cycle recruiting for non-union exempt and non-exempt roles across the fulfillment centers, from trainers through directors, including a recurring, high volume of Operations Supervisor searches. Partner with hiring leaders to define role requirements and leadership competencies, conduct structured assessments of candidates' qualifications and supervisory or leadership capability, and provide hiring recommendations relied on in selection decisions.
  • Prepare, communicate, and process offers.
  • Maintain an active pipeline of union hourly candidates to meet ongoing staffing needs, fill multiple openings concurrently, and support planned hiring classes across shifts.
  • Own the end-to-end background screening process in accordance with company policy, from initiation through final determination. Evaluate findings, determine candidate eligibility, escalate flagged reports to the HR Manager when necessary, and manage required candidate communications.
  • Plan, coordinate, and attend on-site hiring events and off-site job fairs at local colleges and through local events and community partners. Build community recruiting relationships.
  • Manage the Operations summer internship program with Operations leaders, including intern recruiting and selection, onboarding, program schedules, assignment coordination, check-ins, evaluations, and end-of-program activities.
  • Manage seasonal hiring for the November and December peak season. Confirm approved staffing targets with Operations and HR, begin recruiting in advance, coordinate hiring and NCI schedules, track starts and progress toward staffing goals, identify hiring gaps, and recommend changes to sourcing and recruiting activity.

New Hire Classes and Orientation

  • Own NCI scheduling and class planning; delegate roster maintenance, candidate invitations, attendance confirmations, arrival instructions, and follow-up on incomplete steps or missed appointments to Wipro, and review completion and accuracy.
  • Oversee the Fulfillment Center Form I-9 process, directing timely completion, authorized document review, accuracy checks, required reverification, corrections, and secure retention performed by Wipro and designated staff. Conduct periodic audits and escalate employment authorization questions or compliance concerns to the HR Manager.
  • Prepare orientation materials, presentations, rooms, and new hire information. Direct preparation tasks delegated to Wipro and align readiness with Operations, Security, and other participating teams.
  • Administer and facilitate NCI orientations, explain workplace expectations and HR resources, and document attendance and completion. Verify onboarding readiness, resolve gaps with the responsible team, and coordinate handoffs to Operations for training and placement.

Associate Support and Engagement

  • Serve as an on-site contact for general questions about leaves, payroll, benefits resources, company procedures, and other workplace needs; connect associates with the appropriate team and follow through on open items.
  • Serves as HR Generalist for the fulfillment centers. Investigates and resolves associate employee relations issues, advises supervisors on corrective action, and escalates complex matters to the HR Manager.
  • Support day and night shift associates through scheduled availability and coordinated follow-up. Work at Plainfield as business needs require.
  • Help plan and deliver BRAVO recognition, holiday lunches, associate days, decorations, and other HR activities. Coordinate communications, supplies, setup, and event support within approved budgets.

Wipro Oversight and Records

  • Assign and prioritize recruiting, hiring, and administrative processing tasks delegated to Wipro’s Talent and Employee Relations teams; monitor completion and quality, and resolve or escalate delays.

  • Protect confidential candidate and associate information through approved access, storage, and retention practices. Maintain accurate records and provide routine status reports.
  • Recommend practical process improvements, support cross-training and backup coverage, and perform other related HR duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Three or more years of recruiting experience demonstrating success filling hourly and exempt positions, including management and director-level searches. Fulfillment center, distribution, or manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field preferred; an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience will be considered.
  • Experience with applicant tracking systems and Microsoft 365, including Excel, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint. ADP Workforce Now, Indeed, and LinkedIn experience preferred.
  • Strong organization, follow-through, confidentiality, and written and verbal communication skills; ability to facilitate group orientation and manage competing priorities.
  • Working knowledge of recruiting and onboarding practices and the ability to recognize issues requiring HR escalation. Union environment experience and English/Spanish proficiency are a plus.
