Floor Interior Services is looking for a motivated, organized, and people-focused HR Assistant with a strong focus on Recruiting to join our team. This position will play an important role in supporting our company's hiring needs, with a particular focus on recruiting employees and qualified flooring installation subcontractors. The HR Assistant will help manage the recruiting process, communicate with candidates and subcontractors, coordinate interviews and onboarding, and provide support across other areas of Human Resources.
The ideal candidate is a strong communicator who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, can build relationships with people in the field, and is highly organized and proactive.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and support the recruiting process for company employees and subcontractors, from job posting and candidate sourcing through hiring and onboarding.
- Source, screen, and pre-qualify candidates based on company requirements.
- Conduct initial phone or virtual interviews and coordinate interviews with hiring managers.
- Maintain an organized pipeline of candidates and follow up throughout the hiring process.
- Communicate professionally with candidates and provide timely updates.
- Assist with preparing employment and subcontractors' documentation, and onboarding materials.
- Help develop recruiting strategies to attract qualified candidates.
- Assist the HR Manager and management team with day-to-day HR activities.
- Maintain accurate employee and subcontractor records and documentation.
- Assist with new hire onboarding and orientation.
- Assist with background checks, employment verification, and other pre-employment requirements.
- Help coordinate employee training and required certifications.
- Help ensure HR policies and procedures are consistently followed.
- Provide general administrative support to the HR department as needed.
Qualifications
- 1+ year of experience in Human Resources, Recruiting, Talent Acquisition, staffing, or a related administrative role preferred.
- Recruiting experience is strongly preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Highly organized with excellent follow-up and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple recruiting needs and priorities at the same time.
- Comfortable making phone calls and communicating with candidates and subcontractors.
- Ability to work independently while also being a strong team player.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
