CareerNation, a national healthcare staffing firm, is seeking a Healthcare Recruiter & Onboarding Specialist to join our team in a flexible, blended role.

This position combines healthcare recruiting with candidate onboarding and compliance coordination. It is ideal for someone who is organized, communicative, comfortable working independently, and interested in developing experience in healthcare staffing.

Entry-level candidates are welcome to apply. Prior healthcare staffing experience is not required — we will train the right person, and training is paid.

This is a variable-hours position based on current business and staffing needs. Hours and weekly earnings are not guaranteed.

Compensation & Expected Workload

Recruiting: $20/hour

  • Approximately 10–20 recruiting hours per week, depending on business needs
  • Paid for authorized recruiting hours worked

Compliance & Onboarding: $25 per completed candidate case

  • Paid upon completion of each assigned onboarding/compliance case (drug test, license verification, skills checklist, medical screening, etc)
  • Current estimated volume is approximately 10 completed cases per week
  • Cases may include candidates placed through Medely, DNA, HWL, and other CareerNation clients/programs

Paid training is provided.

Work volume fluctuates based on open positions, candidate activity, client demand, and placements. There are no guaranteed minimum hours, number of cases, or weekly earnings.

Key Responsibilities

Healthcare Recruiting

  • Recruit healthcare professionals for temporary, contract, per diem, event, and other staffing opportunities
  • Review applications and resumes to identify qualified candidates
  • Conduct candidate screening calls and assess qualifications, experience, availability, and interest
  • Discuss available assignments, schedules, compensation, and position requirements with candidates
  • Source candidates through job boards, applicant databases, referrals, and other recruiting channels
  • Maintain regular communication and follow-up with active candidates
  • Present qualified candidates for appropriate openings
  • Maintain accurate candidate notes and recruiting activity
  • Coordinate with management regarding priority positions and staffing needs
  • Assist with job postings and candidate outreach as assigned

Compliance & Candidate Onboarding

Manage assigned candidates from placement/acceptance through completion of their required onboarding and compliance process.

Responsibilities may include

  • Collecting and reviewing professional licenses, certifications, identification, immunization records, and other required documentation
  • Coordinating background checks, drug screenings, TB testing, health documents, competency assessments, and other client requirements
  • Assisting candidates with completion of required onboarding forms and documentation
  • Tracking outstanding requirements and following up with candidates until their files are complete
  • Reviewing files for completeness and accuracy before submission
  • Maintaining accurate candidate compliance records and trackers
  • Uploading or submitting required documentation through applicable client, MSP, VMS, or staffing platforms
  • Communicating with candidates regarding missing or expiring requirements
  • Escalating compliance issues, delays, or discrepancies when necessary
  • Helping ensure candidates are fully cleared before their scheduled start dates

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; college education preferred but not required
  • Entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply
  • Recruiting, customer service, administrative, healthcare, HR, staffing, or credentialing experience is helpful but not required
  • Comfortable speaking with candidates by phone, email, and text
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to follow detailed client-specific processes
  • Comfortable learning multiple online systems and staffing platforms
  • Ability to manage several candidates and deadlines simultaneously
  • Dependable and responsive during agreed-upon working periods
  • Able to work independently in a remote environment

Because this position touches both sides of the staffing process, you’ll learn the full candidate lifecycle — from identifying and screening a healthcare professional through getting that individual fully compliant and ready to work.

Flexible, variable schedule based on business needs.

Recruiting work is currently expected to average approximately 10–20 hours per week, while onboarding volume is currently estimated at approximately 10 cases per week. These are estimates only and may increase or decrease substantially.

There are no guaranteed minimum hours, cases, or compensation.
