Uncle Giuseppe’s Marketplace is seeking an outgoing, and organized Field Recruiter to help build exceptional teams across our growing gourmet markets. This hands-on role brings recruiting directly into our stores and communities, connecting with candidates, partnering with hiring managers, and supporting hiring needs for existing locations and new store openings.
The ideal candidate enjoys meeting people, building relationships, and managing a busy recruiting schedule. From conducting interviews to coordinating local hiring events, our Field Recruiter will help create a welcoming candidate experience while keeping the hiring process moving efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Travel regularly to assigned stores, new site hiring centers, and community recruiting events to support staffing needs.
- Partner with store leadership and Human Resources to identify openings, establish hiring priorities, and understand department requirements.
- Recruit candidates for store positions, including clerks, production team members, department leads, and management.
- Source candidates through job boards, employee referrals, community outreach, local schools, workforce organizations, and hiring events.
- Conduct phone screens and in-person interviews to assess experience, qualifications, availability, and interest in open positions.
- Coordinate interviews with hiring managers and provide timely follow-up to candidates.
- Organize and participate in job fairs, open interviews, and hiring events for existing stores and new locations.
- Build a pipeline of qualified candidates for current openings and future staffing needs.
- Maintain accurate candidate records and hiring updates in the applicant tracking system.
- Support the offer and onboarding process in partnership with Human Resources, including communicating next steps and following up on outstanding items.
- Share recruiting progress, candidate feedback, and hiring challenges with store leadership and the recruiting team.
- Represent Uncle Giuseppe’s Marketplace professionally, highlighting our culture, career opportunities, and employee benefits.
- Maintain candidate confidentiality and follow company recruiting policies and procedures.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
- Previous recruiting experience, preferably in grocery, retail, hospitality, food service, or another high-volume hiring environment.
- Experience conducting interviews and managing multiple openings across different departments or locations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with candidates and build productive relationships with hiring managers.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with consistent follow-through.
- Ability to prioritize changing hiring needs and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with applicant tracking systems, online job boards, Microsoft Office, and interview scheduling tools.
- Comfort conducting interviews in store settings and representing the company at community events.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for regular travel to assigned locations.
- Availability to attend occasional evening or weekend hiring events based on business needs.
Travel and Schedule
This position requires regular travel to assigned stores and new site hiring centers, including a minimum of two days per week at new site hiring centers. Additional travel and scheduling flexibility may be needed to support hiring events, new store openings, and business priorities.
