What You Will Be Doing
The Early Talent & University Programs Specialist is responsible for building, executing, and sustaining Yancey Bros. Co.’s university and early career technician recruiting strategy. This role focuses on attracting, recruiting, and onboarding top student and early career talent for Yancey's ThinkBIG, Apprenticeship, and Technical Training Programs through strong educational partnerships, relationship-driven recruiting, and proactive pipeline development.
The recruiter serves as a key ambassador for Yancey Bros. Co., developing and maintaining strategic relationships with high schools, technical colleges, workforce development organizations, and community partners. This position works closely with business leaders and the Talent Acquisition Manager to align talent acquisition efforts with current and future workforce needs.
Primary Responsibilities
- Source, attract, and recruit qualified candidates through employee referrals, online recruiting platforms, social media channels, campus engagement, and recruiting events.
- Develop and maintain relationships with high schools, technical colleges, workforce programs, and other talent sources.
- Manage the full recruitment lifecycle, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, offer coordination, and onboarding activities.
- Schedule, coordinate, and participate in hiring events, including:
- Job fairs
- Campus recruiting events
- Facility tours
- Welcome events
- "Get to Know Yancey" events
- Interviews
- Program graduations
- Alumni engagement activities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for promoting Yancey's ThinkBIG and Apprenticeship Programs.
- Monitor and maintain candidate and recruiting data within applicable systems.
- Partner with hiring managers and business leaders to support workforce planning and program growth.
- Assist the Talent Acquisition Manager in implementing and improving established early talent programs.
Additional Responsibilities
- Participate in required safety program, and work in a safe manner.
- Additional duties as assigned by manager.
Education/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 2+ years of recruiting, talent acquisition, workforce development, or related experience preferred.
- Campus recruiting, technical recruiting, or early talent recruiting experience preferred.
- Experience developing educational institution partnerships is a plus.
