Description
About A First Name Basis
We're one of the fastest-growing home care companies in the South, serving thousands of clients across Louisiana, Mississippi, Arkansas, and South Carolina. Our mission is to empower caregivers with better pay, real benefits, and a genuine career path. Home care is a large and growing market, and we're investing heavily in the technology and systems to serve it well. Growing this fast means people here move up quickly.
The role
Caregivers are the most important people at A First Name Basis. They're the ones in the home, with the client, doing the work our entire company exists to deliver — and everything we build is meant to support their careers. Recruiting is where that relationship starts. It's the first conversation a caregiver has with us and the first impression we make, and it sets the tone for whether they stay six weeks or six years. That's why this role reports to the COO.
We operate 50+ locations across four states, and our growth depends entirely on whether we can find, qualify, hire, and keep caregivers faster than anyone else in our markets. We hire thousands of people a year. The person in this seat owns how well that machine runs.
The work is high-volume and high-contact: hundreds of dials, texts, and conversations a day, an application funnel with several points where candidates fall off, and a market where the best caregivers have options. It has more in common with inside sales than with most recruiting jobs. But what you're selling is real — better pay, same-day pay through DailyPay, 401(k), health coverage, and a company that promotes from the field.
The first six months
You'll carry a desk. You'll personally recruit for several of our highest-volume branches and out-produce the rest of the team while you do it — outbound touches, application-to-hire conversion, time-to-first-shift, and caregiver satisfaction through onboarding. We want you at the top of the leaderboard on the same metrics you'll later coach others to hit. You can't write a playbook you haven't run.
After that
You turn what worked into something repeatable: scripts, cadences, objection handling, funnel design, and the experience a caregiver actually has when they apply and onboard with us. You'll coach and lead a team of 12 recruiters — growing — in the numbers with them every week. You'll also own the initiatives that make the whole system better: tooling, automation, how we work our existing applicant pool, where we source, and what we pay for leads.
Our recruiting team is based at our operations center in Cebu, Philippines, so this is a role where you lead a distributed team well.
Travel
Plano is home base, with monthly travel to our branches and quarterly travel to Cebu. All company-paid.
You're right for this if
- You've carried a number and hit it. Sales, high-volume recruiting, staffing, inside sales, call center leadership — the background matters less than the evidence that you produce at volume
- You've coached people up to your level, not just managed them
- You've led a remote team, or you're clear-eyed about what that takes
- You're comfortable being measured daily, and having your team measured daily
- You'd rather build the system than inherit one
- You want to be in the Plano office five days a week
You're probably wrong for this if
- You want to lead from strategy and let others make the calls
- You need a big budget, more headcount, or a mature tech stack before you can be effective
- You want a predictable inbox job
Comp
Base commensurate with experience, plus performance bonus tied to hires, fill rate, and retention. Real upside — the numbers you put up determine what you make, and the ceiling is running recruiting for a company that intends to double.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2-3 years of recruiting experience, high volume staffing setting preferred.
