BRIEF JOB SUMMARY

The Director of Clinical Experiences, Certification, Data, and Recruitment will maintain and monitor teacher candidate records for all students seeking teacher certification at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Analyze transcripts for eligibility for initial and additional licensure endorsements. Manage surveys of employers and completers, pull data from Student Learning & Licensure, and create
data reports for faculty decision-making and external reporting. Maintain office files; maintain IMC Lab, copy room, and building activities; and oversee student workers. This role will also provide a level of recruitment that encompasses 25% of the job which includes but it not limited to attending recruitment events, assist with Marketing materials and swag, help organize materials for distribution, work with area K-12 school districts to coordinate recruitment opportunities, etc.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Requires Bachelor’s Degree– Master’s Degree preferred–and extensive experience in teacher licensure and in office management
- Knowledge of computer and computer programs – Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Follow academic and other related administrative policies
- Maintain records and monitor data on teacher candidate progress, Praxis/admission test, and licensure requirements
- Collect institutional effectiveness data for reports
- Respond to correspondence and messages related to teacher certification
- Maintain knowledge of changing Certification and Accreditation requirement; ensuring program requirements meet both institutional and state guidelines
- Work with the Education Dean to Interpret state regulations for teacher certification
- Correspond with State Department of Education concerning licensure issues
- Verify and recommend licensure credentials to the State Department of Education
- Manage college surveys
- Pull data reports from Student Learning & Licensure
- Create and maintain candidate data reports to inform programmatic review, faculty decision making, and external reporting
- Record minutes for department meetings
- Work with the Education Dean to Monitor and maintain department budget records
- Work with the Education Dean to Supervise work study students
- Work with the Education Dean to Prepare annual reports for THEC and Title II
- Update and maintain department program checklist
- Organize and serve as ex-officio member and recorder on the Teacher Education Review Board
- Maintain an efficiently run Education office, including copy room, for the COG North building
- Manage the IMC lab, copy room, library materials, and office equipment
- Support efforts aimed at the recruitment and retention of faculty, staff, and students
- Supervise lending records of educational materials
- Serve on advisory councils and committees as requested
- Assist with Commencement and Convocation
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Administer and oversee all field experiences for teacher
education candidates. This includes arranging initial placements for candidates, overseeing
completion of field experience requirements, addressing issues/concerns related to field
experiences, and collecting/analyzing both formative and summative evaluations. This includes
all certification fields and types—e.g. traditional and Job Embedded.
- Recommend grades for student teaching experience coursework and provide appropriate placement information to Student Records.
- Assign, train, and supervise those individuals who act as college supervisors and mentor teachers for field experiences.
- Schedule, advertise, and hold informational meetings for students applying for student teaching each semester.
- Administer and oversee initial certification procedures and documentation for all teacher education candidates.
- Administer and oversee recertification processes and/or added endorsements for certified teachers.
- Annually update School of Education handbook related to field experiences, practicum and/or certification.
- Advise students who return to add additional endorsements.
- Conduct Stakeholder district/building visits with the Education Dean to ensure the quality of the program.
- Assist Education with assessment of field experiences and analysis of data.
- Attend state certification meetings as needed.
- Other duties as assigned by the Dean of Education.
- Devote up to 25% of the role to supporting recruitment initiatives for Tusculum University, with a primary focus on the Education Division.
- Promotes the mission of Tusculum University to all faculty, staff, students and community at large.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment. You may be required to work occasional irregular hours, including some nights and weekends.
- Able to lift up to 25 pounds on occasion.
- Communicate effectively.
- Must be able to walk distances, sit or stand for long periods of time, and climb stairs.
