DIR, DRIVER RECRUITING

PURPOSE.

This position is responsible for the consistent growth and seating of Class A CDL drivers (First Solo Dispatch).

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES.

  • Meets or exceeds recruitment key performance indicators including, but not limited to number of drivers hired, lead generation, reductions in turnover, and staff development.
  • Develop, train, and recognize a team of high-performing recruiters.
  • Execute military recruiting strategy.
  • Execute strategies to source, screen, and hire Class A CDL Drivers and Independent Contractors.
  • Work with business unit leaders to fulfill driver hiring needs for Truckload, Dedicated, Davis Transfer, and Team divisions.
  • Create, update, and communicate a driver recruiting scoreboard that informs on progress toward department goals.
  • Develop and execute a diverse top-of-funnel and social recruiting marketing plan.
  • Manage media spend to produce a low cost per hire.
  • Determine current staffing needs and produce forecasts.
  • Develop talent acquisition strategies and hiring plans.
  • Ensures adherence to all federal, state, and local regulations governing the employment process.
  • Perform sourcing to fill open positions and anticipate future needs.
  • Plan and conduct recruitment and selection processes (interviews, screening calls etc.).
  • Take steps to ensure a positive candidate experience.
  • Develops and collaborates with others to develop performance standards. Measures against metrics.
  • Takes corrective actions as appropriate.
  • Recommends and takes responsibility for training and development among staff.
  • Ensures the integrity and timeliness of data entered into the system by self, staff, and project teams as designated.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or like discipline, or combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum five years’ demonstrated experience and success in logistics operations, driver recruiting, and retention practices.
  • Minimum five years of demonstrated ability to manage others and lead processes.
  • Minimum two years’ experience in recruiting systems.
