GENERAL POSITION OVERVIEW
The corporate Recruiter performs a variety of staffing and training and development duties under general supervision and with a significant degree of creativity, attitude and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES
- Recruits, screens, interviews and recommends prospective employees for entry-level through management positions;
- Works with search firms or other placement agencies and maintains a highly qualified candidate pool.
- Conducts background checks and schedules pre-employment drug screenings, drafts offer letters and processes/maintains recruiting documentation;
- Manages and documents recruitment-related EEO efforts including Applicant Flow logs and good-faith efforts;
- Tracks and reports open positions weekly and coordinates with managers regarding the recruiting process;
- Upload new hires into HRIS;
- Assists managers in the creation of job descriptions and maintains library of job descriptions;
- In concert with other HR staff, conducts new hire orientations and ensures receipt of properly completed new hire documents;
- In coordination with Assistant Human Resources Manager - performs training and development needs assessments and in concert with other HR Department members develops and delivers training programs;
- Researches/provides management with information/schedules appropriate external training solutions;
- Provides support to Assistant HR Manager in administration of agency temporary employees
- Responsible for employee file maintenance
- Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
ESSENTIAL SKILLS
Good emotional intelligence, interaction with managers and co-workers and self-management are keys to success in the role.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience is required; additional courses and/or a degree in a field related to Human Resources is desired;
- A minimum of two years’ experience in an administrative role in a business or nonprofit is required;
- A minimum of two years of customer-facing (internal and/or external) interaction is required.
KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES
Must demonstrate good judgment, very strong written and verbal communication skills (including appropriate and effective telephone and email use), an understanding of social media use, Microsoft Office Suite applications and the operation of media equipment, such as projectors and other visual aids when facilitating training classes. Basic understanding of effective recruiting techniques, EEO-compliant recruiting and Human Resources certification is desired but not required

This job operates in a professional office environment not generally exposed to severe differences in heat or cold and having no unusual physical demands or challenges. May require occasional lifting/carrying of up to 20 pounds
