American Avenue Property Management (AA) is a boutique real estate fund specializing in the management of affordable, single-family rentals across the U.S. Our mission is to provide residents with the best rental experience by leveraging innovative, software-driven operations to manage and improve homes in dozens of markets simultaneously. We pride ourselves on creating safe, comfortable, and quality living environments for our residents.
Our Property Engineers (maintenance technicians) are the face of our company to residents. We're growing fast and need help finding great people to fill those roles.
The Opportunity
- We have 50+ open roles, with more opening soon. Most are Property Engineers: turn techs, general maintenance, HVAC, and plumbing. We also have occasional senior construction searches. We're looking for an independent recruiter who can source, screen, and close skilled-trades candidates at high volume.
- This is an outcome-based engagement. You set your own schedule and approach, and you're paid for every qualifying hire. Strong performers may be considered for a full-time employee role as our business needs evolve.
What You'll Do
- Source and engage trades and maintenance candidates through job boards, referrals, trade networks, social media, and direct outreach
- Screen candidates against role requirements, including a truck or van, own tools, a valid driver's license, and trade skills
- Guide candidates through our hiring process: schedule interviews, coordinate with hiring managers, and close offers
- Keep candidate status current in our ATS
- Follow our hiring, background check, and equal-opportunity standards on every candidate
What You Bring
- Proven experience recruiting for trades, construction, or maintenance roles
- Single-family rental or residential property management experience is a strong plus
- Experience with high-volume hiring of hourly and skilled workers
- Comfort with cold outreach and sourcing candidates with little online presence
- Familiarity with an ATS and Indeed
- Ability to work independently, hit your own targets, and communicate clearly with hiring managers
- Your own equipment (laptop, phone) and sourcing resources
